Hello old man…i tried downliadng that scanner but it took so long i went to bad and tried again the next day, this is why i took s long. I am quite confused, i did the scan and there is nothing to cut and paste…there was no malware to be found…it is all quite messed up and maybe i should just reformat my whoile comp but id like it if it didnt get to that…

Anyway ive supplied u with the Move it thing and there is nothing on the online scanner to even report! So..here is my HJT log:

Hi Bloe,

I don't think you need to reformat. The fact that the online scan didn't find anything is good.

I need you to do 2 things.

First uninstall this program, if found.

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 12]

Next

Open HJT
  • Click Do a system scan and save a log file
  • When the scan has finished, a notepad will popup
  • Copy and paste the contents of that notepad into your next reply

Thanks
hello Old Man could u tell me how to nd and delelte the J2SE Programme? I have browsed my system control panel, list and it doesnt seem to be there…
Hi Bloe. If you can't find it then it's all ready been uninstalled. Just post a new HJT log using the instructions I gave last time. Thanks
Here it is sir.

Hi Bloe,

That is an old log

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2
Scan saved at 11:27:20 AM, on 20/03/2009
Platform: Windows Vista SP1 (WinNT 6.00.1905)
MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6001.18000)
Boot mode: Normal

Please follow these steps to create a new one

Open HJT
  • Click Do a system scan and save a log file
  • When the scan has finished, a notepad will popup
  • Copy and paste the contents of that notepad into your next reply

Thanks
Hi OldMan i kid you not when i click on scan and save log file button the result seems to always have the same date of 20/3/2009.

What i have done now is scan ONLY and then click on save logfile AFTER…this seems to have changed the date though i have no idea why it does this….here it the log file with an apparent new date but i am at a loss as to why HJT does not even work properly.

Hi Old Man, i thought there must be nothing bad found on the comp cause i didnt delete anything but it is still slow. Do you think it could be a connection error? On the bottom of my screen u have that windows bar and on the right hand side theres a mini pic of 2 monitors and when the connection is slow the monitors flash, i right clicked on the pic and there was an option called 'diagnose and repair' when i did it said my comp was experiening a network connectivity problem. The thing is i have been able to use it fine for a long time now and suddenly things have gone slow. Im also using free internet. I turn my comp on and it automatically connects to an internet connection so im basically getting free internet. Awesome, but…these days not so awesome as the connection is very slow. Since it seems theres nothing wrong with my software, do you think it is the free connection that is responsible for my woes?
Hi Bloe, If it's only the internet that's giving you problems, then yes it could very well be the "free' internet you are using. If you are having other problems it may be software related and I can refer you to another part of the forum. Let me know
Hello Old man i dont know. There is definetly a problem with the internet but there is still the problem of the web page going back a few pages sometimes and the fact that anything i write goes up a few lines automaticall sometimes. Perhaps it is a combination of the 2 problems….i am not sure. Maybe we should try out the software side of tom coyote. I am currently asking around for internet connection deals…so we should tackle this problem from both sides perhaps….
Hi Bloe,

We'll clean up a bit and I'll post some links for further down in this post.

From your desktop, please delete
  • any notepads/logs that we created
  • Rooter.exe
  • MCPR.exe
  • DDS.scr

Open OTMOVEIT3 then click the Clean Up button. You may get prompted by your firewall that OTMoveIt wants to contact the internet - allow this. A cleanup.txt will be downloaded, a message dialog will ask you if you want to proceed with the cleanup process, click Yes. This will do some clean up tasks and delete some of the tools you have downloaded plus itself.

I suggest you keep MBAM. Keep MBAM updated and use it regularly.

Updates and upgrades

Some Recommendations and prevention tips

From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
  • Click once on the Security tab
  • Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
  • Click once on the Custom Level button.
  • Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
  • Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
  • Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
  • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
  • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt

When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.

If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.

Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

After you get your system sorted out I suggest you consider the following

Basic security consists of 1 antivirus program, 1 resident antispyware program, 1 on demand antispyware program and a firewall. You have some of those all ready.

You should also use Spyware Blaster to help immunize your computer.

- SpywareBlaster will add a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer
settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

Besides the Hosts file information, there are links to a very good updated hosts file, a host file manager. and some programs that can protect your hosts file.
HOSTS

Please read the info on disabling the DNS Client before installing a custom hosts file.

* If you are behind a router Windows firewall should be fine. Otherwise a 3rd party firewall with outbound monitoring is recommended.
