I've actually used WTT before and you guys helped me with something at least this annoying, so I'm hoping you can help again. My first instinct was- run as many free individual (reputable) anti-spyware programs as possible (Not at the same time). Spybot S&D was my first choice, but the virus has made me unable to access it. S&D is no longer installed on my computer, and when I try to re-install it whether in safe mode or not, it doesn't connect to the update-website. I can't update my SUPER Anti-spyware, though its current definitions (as of less than a week ago) caught 10 adwares, 2 trojans, and a rookit, which it says it removed. AVG 8.0 theoretically caught and removed the same ones soon thereafter. In any browser (MSN, IE, Firefox) I might randomly be redirected to another page (yahoo, a search website, or an advertising website) after the first has loaded. For a while, I was unable to open IE and still can't unless I'm in safe mode. STOPzilla also will not install. When I enter "My Computer", I cannot access the C: drive. However, I can access it if I run a search for something therein and navigate around from there. Recently, I installed a games kit from the original windows called "Windows Entertainment Package". It had all the nostalgic games from my childhood PC that I wanted to show my girlfriend. It was around when I executed that file that the trouble started. I cannot perform a system restore because after choosing the restore point, the program will not let me proceed to the "next" part- only backward. Hopefully this is enough for you to go on; if not, please let me know. I'll do what I can. Thank you in advance!
Feel free to close this topic: I ran MBAM and it took care of the problem. I can now update my SUPER antispyware, re-install spybot, and I have no internet problems. Thank you!
