[Resolved] infection posted 7th feb.

tried to fix the problem myself. would be grateful if you could check if i've been successful. i used malwarebytes anti-malware and dr web cureit, did i do the right thing.? here is new hijack this log and the DDS.txt and Attach.txt. sorry didn't mean to send all as attachments…sigh …………….. many thanks fiona

Your logs look pretty good, have all the problems gone? You should update your Java as old versions can be exploited.

yes problems seem to have disappeared and all seems to be working better, still get pop up ads on yahoo but guess that's to be expected.. will update java, many thanks for your help all the best fiona

Using Firefox?

If so, give AdBlockPlus (extension) a go if you haven't already. Fantastic ad-blocking extension in my opinion, I very rarely see any ads in Firefox.

You can also have Firefox stop popups with Tools >> Options >> Content and check Block Popups.
