System startup extremly slow, laptop very very slow

Hello, My laptop has been very very slow at startup and it takes a good 3-4 minutes to open firefox, or other programs. I have downloaded spybot, antivire, advanced system care to clean the registry and I am still having the same problem. i really appreciate some feed back and help
