It keeps on giving. I ran afoul of the same maddening problem, wasted time at java.com, a little more wasted at MajorGeeks. Then I found your utility, which cleared up the problem immediately. I registered here to say thanks. This is still a valuable resource, and it's a shame the Java site doesn't even mention the issue, let alone link here to solve it.

I think I can put something together for the good of the community. Give me a little while.

How did this happen on 700 machines?

Hello and THANK YOU for the fix! I also would like to push this out through SCCM. Did you have a silent switch for the fix?

Thanks again

I have just joined the forum expressly to THANK appleoddity for his post with the JavaMSIFix tool. It is a godsend. I do not know HOW many times I have had to fix that error by crawling through the Registry, etc. repeatedly until I could get the dayam thing to reinstall. To all who helped in the creation of the JavaMSIFix, I wholeheartedly thank and salute you for your work! :) - Darkstrike

Hi, appleoddity. After helping someone at another forum clean their PC and providing information for updating Java, the person was getting "intenal error 2753.regutils.dll". Researching that error, it appears to be the result of an interrupted or incomplete Java uninstall. I have seen instances where Revo has caused problems and I wanted to avoid having the person do a manual regedit. Your tool worked perfectly without my worrying about the person manually editing the registry. I also like that you included creation of a system restore point! Many thanks for JavaMSIFix.exe, appleoddity!

Hello Corrine. Thank you for your hours of endless hard work helping people with their malware problems. I appreciate the positive feedback. Although my tool is not specifically designed to fix the error 2753 regutils.dll, and it has been known to not fix that issue, it is nice to know that it was able to fix that problem in this instance. Take care.

I too had to join just to express my gratitude for the JavaMSIfix tool and to appleoddity. I practically tried all I could to try to remove the missing/ unseen java installation. I was so anxious to find it and reinstall java. I'm am so glad I found your forum on how to help! JavaMSIfix worked wonderfully despite it being in beta stage, it did the trick to fix the problem! THANK YOU SO MUCH! Much appreciation to the creator(s) of this tool and to appleoddity for posting this forum!
