Right Click on an empty space of your Desktop
Select - Properties - ScreenSaver(tab) - Power Setting(button) - Hibernate(tab)
Remove the checkmark/tick from in front of "enable hibernation"
Have we been here before?
Post back if you are having difficulty with this procedure.

The reason(s) I recommended disabling Hibernate, is that it is an "indexing utility" that is constantly keeping track of files and changes in files, such that if the power goes off in your laptop (the battery runs out of juice) there will be a saved listing of all the current files in "Hibernate dat file" so you will be able to reboot with minimal loss.
Since most people run Laptops via A/C power connector, the above possibility is low, and folks usually turn off their machine to recharge the battery if they see it is getting worn down, so again, the possiblity is low.
so the Reason -- disabling Hibernate, puts less strain on a Hard Drive that may have other problems.
I am also beginning to think that you may have a Hardware problem with your Hard Drive.
Alternatively, there may actually be some Malware (virus/spyware) that didn't get detected.
"Perhaps" some additional checking via the good services of Ken545 will be able to find something that is episodically consuming/therefore "freezing" your machine from time to time.
Please post to Malware Removal again, to ask Ken to take another look.
Be sure to give him a link to this thread.

___________
In the meantime......
Run Checkdisk
Start - Run - (type)cmd - Enter
This will bring up a DOS style box with blinking cursor,
At the blinking cursor, type:
chkdsk /f /r - Enter <--- notice the required space before the "/"s.
CHECKDISK will inform you that it cannot be run because files are in use/locked, etc. and will invite you to allow CHECKDISK to run the next time you reboot your machine.
Type "Y" for yes, and then reboot.
The scans will take about 30-40 minutes, after which your machine will complete its boot into Windows.
You may be good-to-go after the CHKDSK, if it finds any bad-clusters and moves files to known good areas of your hard drive. However, if CHKDSK does find bad-clusters and moves files, it may be necessary to run CHKDSK a 2nd and even 3rd time, until all the bad-clusters are found and all of the affected files are safely moved.
The CHKDSK runs take about 30 - 40 minutes to complete.
Please run CHKDSK (3) three times in sequence to be sure that all the bad-clusters get identified.
If bad-clusters are identified, even on the 3rd scan, run a 4th scan, until no bad-clusters are identified.
CHECKDISK does not produce a Report, but does flash a brief statement, before going on to boot your machine back into Windows. (if it says "files were moved" then there was a "bad-cluster") Also if you watch the progress of CHKDSK, you will notice an alert (bad-cluster -- files being saved/moved) <-- not exact wording.
It would be tedious to sit in front of the darn machine for (3) three boring runs of 40 minutes each, but do your best to notice if bad-clusters have been identified.
Best Regards

c:\Documen-1\liz\locals-1\Temp\WeRb81d.dir00\wmplayer.exe.mdmp
and
c:\Documen-1\liz\locals-1\Temp\WeRb81d.dir00\appcompat.txt
Don't have a clue what this means but, thought it might help?!
Yes, that could be of some help.
Please use My Computer or Windows Explorer to navigate to: c:\Documen-1\liz\locals-1\Temp\
Empty the TEMP folder. (delete all the files inside of TEMP, but don't delete the Folder named TEMP
___________
Then run your AFT-Cleaner, or CleanUp! 4.52, of Ccleaner <-- I don't remember which one you have
Just run the one you do have.
Do this before posting to Malware Removal.
best regards

I once had a washing machine repairman come out.
It took him only 5 minutes to fix the machine.
As I watched, I realized that I could do the steps that he was doing, but I hadn't known about them.
He charged me for a full service call, but softened my wounded ego, by saying:
"Hey, if you don't know. You just don't know."
Much of getting used to managing a computer can be like that.
You're doing just fine and learning as you go.
Use My Computer to navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\liz\Local Settings\Temp\
Empty (delete) "all" files and folders contained inside of Temp, but do not delete the Temp Folder itself.
Take heart, that your good work here is helping dozens of others who will learn from your success.
