[IndiGenus]

Wondering if it's a dependency issue. That service depends on 2 others immediately, but they also have dependencies so it can get tricky to troubleshoot. The easiest way is to do this and make sure all services are on.

Click Start, then Run...
Type in or copy/paste in msconfig
Click on the Services tab
Make sure all services are checked. You can either check off ones that are not, or just click the enable all button to do so.
Click OK to exit the system configuration tool.

Now reboot your machine and see if it's running.

Sorry I did not get an email reply notification, logged on to send you a reminder. I have checked on msconfig/services and all items are ticked. Also I have tried again to start it in control panel but still 'started and stoped' in the response. strange

Can you please download VEW and save it to your Desktop

Double-click VEW.exe then under 'Select log to query', select:
System

Under 'Select type to list', select:
Error
Warning

Then in the number or date events section select Date of Events and plug in the last few days.

Click Run and a log should open up automatically in Notepad. Please post the log.

This may be associated with the problem I have in Outlook where I have a left-over Exchange Server from business use which I no longer have or need. Outlook tries to access this server every time it does a send/receive but registers an error. However this is happening every few minutes when it checks for mail and I have Outlook open most of the time. I am not able to remove the Exchange Server account in Outlook as it tells me I will have to store the data files somewhere else before the account can be removed. I am not sure what the data may be and whether it has been collecting any data I have been using since using the computer for personal use only with a Pop account. Wow what a ride this has been! I just went back over the whole thread to see if there's anything that needed to be tidied up, and realized how much really bad stuff was (maybe still is?) on this computer. If any of the malware removal tools still remain they can be removed. Let me know if there are and if you need help removing them.

I think I'm at the point now where I will hand you off to the techs to take a look. You can post your remaining issues over in the Windows Forum. Leave a link back here so they can see what has been done.

I think I also need to remind you of my first post to you here back when we started, almost a month ago.

I must remind you that i cannot guarantee that your computer will be completely clean afterwards since we have no way of knowing what has been done to it.

I don't say this often as I think most any infection can be cleaned rather than reformatting. But if this were my PC I would reformat, especially considering all the "other" issues you're having. And not knowing if they are somehow related to the Malware, or the process of removing it.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

I agree. I don't think I have any tools left on the system, so should be ok. My machine is running very well now except for the tiny problems I have which I can live with if I cannot fix them. This is down to you and the relentless efforts you have made to clean up my system for me. I don't think any of the remaining issues are to do with malware, so I think you have been 100% successfull.
