Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.


You need to update Java.

Update Java
Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update.
First remove the older versions:

• Download JavaRa and unzip it to your desktop.
• Double-click on JavaRa.exe to start the program.
• Click on Remove Older Versions to remove the older versions of Java installed on your computer.
• Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
• A logfile will pop up. Please save it to a convenient location.

Now let's download and install the newest version:

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7.
• Click on Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003 Offline and save the downloaded file to your desktop.
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Then from your desktop double-click on the download to install the newest version.
• Reboot your computer.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Clicked Fix checked.

Checked for the two files you listed in the Windows\temp folder. They were not there but these were

Perflib_Perfdata_7p0.dat

After about 30 seconds of monitoring, the Perflib_Perfdata file disappeared.

Ran ATF Cleaner

Rechecked Windows\Temp and found that ATF Cleaner had removed all left but the 2 .exe files.
Tried to go to safe mode to remove them but got a stop error screen.

Updated Java offline

Rebooted computer

Checked the windows\temp folder and found the following

Perflib_Perfdata_794.dat
Perflib_Perfdata_b00.dat
T30DebugLogFile.txt
WGAErrlog.txt
WGANNotify.settings


After about 30 secs monitoring the folder, the Perflib_Perfdata_b00.dat disappeared and shortly afterwareds these files were added to the folder

Task mgr still works. Internet security will not run keeps saying there is not network connection and application cannot initialize.

With IE open > at the top of the browser, click Tools > Internet Options> Security > click once on Restricted Sites > click the Sites button.
Highlight all the sites and remove them.

Ok using Firefox. When setting up Firefox clicked on do not import anything from IE. Still unable to access any of the 3 sites you listed.

And please follow these steps:
1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll (note the space), and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

Please try opening a page that previously didn't open.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 1 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):
• Shdocvw.dll
• Msjava.dll
• Actxprxy.dll
• Oleaut32.dll
• Mshtml.dll
• Browseui.dll
• Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

Still cannot get to the sites. Followed instructions and all succeeded except two. These are Shdocvw.dll failed return code 0x800280c Msjava.dll failed module not found.

If you have another PC try to copy it from another machine to this
location:
C:\Windows\System32\shdocvw.dll

and run this command should correct and replace a corrupt/damaged
files/folders in the system core:
sfc /scannow click [OK] Note the space.
