Last week you advised that I back up the registry before one of the programs searched through it and then we deleted things. Should I now delete that back up file on the basis that it might contain something it shouldn't

Yes you can.

Log looks good :D :thumbup: How is it running any issues?

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults
Select: Apply, and click OK

I have had a reply (copied below) from my ISP to my query re the # - I don't really understand - is there anything of concern? "Thank you for contacting Tiscali Customer Support. I understand from your e-mail that you are having virus problem on your PC and you need to know that 80.225.252.58 it Tiscali's IP. I would like to inform you that we do not provide static IP to our customers and I request you to please check whether this is the only IP through which you are getting into virus problem. As we provide Dynamic IP it keeps on changing each time to logout and login."

If that's the case, then you should get something like 80.225.xxx.xx
each time you login, which is OK. Any address between: 80.225.248.0 - 80.225.255.127 will be from your ISP.
