Doesn't look like you got Spybot installed? How did you resolve the problem you had encountered with AVG AntiSpyware? _________ you can "disable" the following via MSCONFIG for better performance. Sun Java Update Sun Microsystems, Inc. C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_01\bin\jusched.exe ATI Hotkey Utility ATI Technologies Inc. C:\WINDOWS\System32\Ati2evxx.exe OneTouch Dritek System Inc. C:\PROGRA~1\HEWLET~1\ONE-TO~1\OneTouch.EXE MSN Messenger Microsoft Corporation C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe Windows Live Messenger Microsoft Corporation C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\usnsvc.exe HPConfig Module Hewlett-Packard C:\WINDOWS\system32\HPConfig.exe Anti-Malware Development a.s. C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5\guard.exe Hewlett-Packard C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Notebook ... \hptasks.exe Zone Labs, LLC C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe Apple Inc. C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe HP catch-all Hewlett-Packard Company C:\windows\system\hpsysdrv.exe _______ Have you set your machine for "best performance". Right-Click - My Computer - Select Properties - Select Advanced(tab) - tick the item "adjust for best performance" Good Work. I'm very happy for you getting this difficult situation resolved so well. I don't want to "hassle" you, but will you please run a fresh Pit Test, after accomplishing as much of the above as you decide to do? Best Regards

Sorry. No on the Zone Alarm. it is just the Zone Alarm client that watches for updates, but removing it will disrupt your Firewall. What results from Spybot, if any?

AVG AntiSpyware is an Excellent product, but not "essential" for the safe operations of your machine. Other Excellent products include: Spybot Search and Destroy paid versions of the following are also Excellent Choices: Webroot SpySweeper PCTools Spyware Doctor. Run a HJT Log and post it over in the Malware Removal Forum. Maybe something can be spotted that will help us understand why AVG AntiSpyware is hanging up. Post HJT Log in the Malware Forum. Please give us a link to your HJT posting here, so we can go take a look. Best Regards
