Yep, go ahead and install it as well. From your Everest post, it appears the ASUS driver is the correct driver. There must be some other problem that we will have to unravel.

I'm sorry Lochy, I need to call it a night. I will research more tomorrow. I think the missing Legacy Audio Drivers and codec's might have something to do with it.

ax i forgot to tell you.. that when i went to add hardware.. it installed all those.. codecs legacy but why isnt sound still working gets me.. :S

OK, I've just got a thought that part of the issue might be related to the path issue you are having. Go to your command prompt again (Start|Run, type cmd, and press Enter), type set path and press Enter. Post the output of the command here.

Great job, that is what I suspected. Could you also post the results of a set command? This will show all the system variables (hence a much larger output).
