Run Pocket Killbox, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot.
Paste the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot answer Yes let the system reboot.

scanned with TrojanHunter and it came up clean. Tried a full scan with Bitdefender and it flagged the virus in c:\winnt\msupd. and it had a delete option. So I deleted it successfully and ran Ad-aware. This time it went through the full system scan and flagged 3 critical objects which I deleted. Do you want another HiJackThis file to confirm anything?

Hello LDTate, I think that Little Eagle has helped me eliminate most of my problems, and he had asked me to post a hijackthis log to check. That was my last post. Since then I have run a full system scan in Ewido, a Spybot scan, and an Ad-Aware scan. The first two are clean, but Ad-Aware picked up a tracking cookie and a few low risk threats. The tracking cookie seems to recur at each scan. Is this likely to be a meaningful problem, and if sowWould it help to send you that scan log?

You'll have those every time you go to the internet. If you run Ad-Aware once a week and clean those that should be OK.

Good Job

Log looks good :D  How is it running any issues?

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Click Start> My Computer, select the Tools menu and then Folder Options, after the new window appears select the View tab…]
This time select the: Restore Defaults
Select: Apply, and click OK

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?

It seems to be running OK with no other issues. The only problem I have now is that the properties dialogue has no tab for system restore! Is it to be found somewhere else? I have Ad-Aware, Spybot SD, Spywareblaster, CW shredder and MS Anti Spyware beta loaded: I als have Bitdefender 9 Professional as my Anti-Virus and Firewall. Can I run all these together in the background?
