It has been brought to my attention that you appear to be in breach of this forums Terms of Use (TOU).

Yes. I mentioned it my first post I created this name for my sisters Pc. It has diff operating system and I did not want confusion with my normal id

We do prefer that you use your usual account regardless of how many machines you have and even if you are trying to help someone else.

Not sure how to get it to boot from Cd..... triedcd and it booted regularly

The way to configure a machine to Boot from a CD varies depending on make and model. If your machine is now booting from the CD you ought to be able to work your way through the procedure detailed in the link I provided earlier.

Said something about old files being stored in folder "old windows " will the infections still be on the machine?

An "Old Windows" directory is created when the operating system is reinstalled but the machine is not reformatted.

It seems that the instructions I provided did not include the reformat step :(

In order to remove everything from the machine it must be reformatted prior to reinstalling Vista.


The following guide ought to help.
