Looks like I gave you the wrong date. Nothing useful in the file you uploaded. Yesterday would have been 2010-08-07 but perhaps you ran the scan on the 6th? Check the log and see if you can find just the SFC entries and upload them. Sorry for the messed up date. I knew what I wanted to say but my fingers betrayed me :pullhair:

That appears to be this lap[top. Can you verify please?

Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 Notebook

2.1GHz Athlon 64 X2 Mobile QL-65, 3GB DDR2, 250GB HDD, DVD±RW DL, Windows Vista Home Premium, 15.6" LCD - MPN: PSLM0U00F002

The L505D-S5965 should be viewable somewhere, perhaps on the bottom label.

Also, did you create the Recovery discs for your computer? It's called TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator.

Yes that is my laptop, lol you have skill! And I made two sets of back ups. One when I got it, and the other when I moved.

Nman

After conferring with other techs we have come to an agreement these are your only options at this point. After trying all other fixes and reviewing the logs. It shows a lot of repair activity but none were for ieui.dll, so it didn't resolve that problem.

You have several options to try and see if this will correct the problem with the machine, they are listed below:

1. Before proceeding, be sure to back up all of your saved data that you will need.

2. Create a restore point in case you will need it, these are the links to show you how to do so.

How to create a restore point

http://bertk.mvps.or.../createrpv.html

http://www.howtogeek...system-restore/

3. You can try a System Restore and revert back to a day or two before the problem. Here is the info of how to do this

System Restore Vista

http://pcsupport.abo...store-vista.htm

http://www.bleepingc...utorial143.html

If the above does not solve your problem, then move to step 4.

4. You can try and do a Repair Install. Here are the links of how to do this.

Repair Install Vista

http://www.windowsvi...artup/index.htm

http://vistasupport....air_options.htm

Then your last option would be to do a Factory Restore (Out of Box State)

5. Factory Restore (Out of Box State) here is the link to your User’s Guide and look on page 62 to perform this operation.

Sorry that we could not resolve your problems. Please report back to let us know how things went.

Just a quick reply. It's okay that you couldn't solve this. And I will try and do some of those options, but I really don't think that I will be doing the factory restore. If I have to live with it I could, although if I backed up all my data again I could try and restore it, but there is always the option that would fail (because of my lack of skill mostly). If I could just live with it and somehow make it not scan-able via McAfee then that would be great, but there is risk in that I know. So I will do all you have said here, but the last one I am hesitant to do. I do have the original back ups of it, so if I can dig that file out then I can replace it. Any way, thanks for all your time and help, I will let you know how things go.

Okay, sorry I have been a very long while, I have been busy with new things in my life, and have not had hardly any time, lol! I wanted to ask something, I was wondering that if I make restore disks, that if I have to do a factory restore would I be able to get all my files I have like fire fox, and games, and documents, and all of that from those disks? Or could I fix the ieui.dll files from ones I have already made, and if so, how? When I got home from work today and started up, my computer immediately gave me the same screen as it had before about how windows had encountered a problem and it shut down and restarted. So I am going to need to work on this, and I have some time set aside to do so, so please let me know as soon as you can! Thanks!
