Hi kapusta

I just tried starting my Media Player and got the start theme!
Yeaaaahhhhh!

Well Done!

Enjoy the sound..... play a few CDs..watch a DVD.... and enjoy!......take a break....you'vre earned it!

If you are back at work today/tomorrow get the guys/gals there to loan you the Windows XP MCE installation disc(s)...( for running the SFC)...ask them to slipstream SP3 into it for you....... don't try installing or plugging in your your Angel USB Device just yet...and in answer to your question about the size of your Registry........its tiny...... very important..... but very small.... so you will never have to worry about the amount of space needed when backing it up.
When backing up the Registry use ERUNT .
In this situation it's best for you not to try and use "regedit" to export the Registry......but to use Erunt for the Registry back up.
Erunt is available from here:

"Setup can add a shortcut to your start menu’s Startup folder so that ERUNT creates a backup of your registry each time Windows is started. The backups will be placed in a folder named ERDNT inside your Windows folder and will be separated into the different creation date. AutoBackup will always keep recent registry copies of 30 days. Create an ERUNT entry in the Startup folder? This program backs up the registry files of your Windows NT/2000/XP system to a folder of your choice OK Cancel Please specify a folder…. C:\WINDOWS\ERDNT\12-28-2009 Backup options X System registry X Current user registry ___Other open user registries OK Cancel To restore the registry at a later point, run the ERDNT program from folder…." I told it to go ahead and create an ERUNT entry in the Startup folder. I'm suspicious of what coworker #1 is going to bring in, in terms of installation CD(s). He says he has ALL the Windows programs. I think that means bootlegs because he said I didn't need a key code. Coworker #2 was out today. I will check with him tomorrow.

Hi, you don't need a key code for running SFC just the disc(s) the Win XPMCE with Sp 3 slipstreamed into it is best. However for the purposes of running SFC, Win XP Pro with SP3 in it will probably do the job. As you will be relying on your co worker to provide the correct disc(s) for you to borrow, free from viruses or malicious elements, make it clear that you do not want anything that is bootlegged or otherwise illegal. Remember that before you use any disc or USB drive or even floppy disc you should virus check it with at least two anti virus products of good repute, before you use it.... Well done on using Erunt ..that was a wise move..... One further step is a little bit of extra "insurance" for you........ Now that your sound is working Ok and before you do anything else create a System Restore Point. Here's how: Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore Point>Create a Restore Point Follow directions and give it a name that you will remember eg "sound back at last" your computer will automatically assign a date to the Restore Point, so write that date down somewhere and keep it safe...... Then in the event that some time in the future you hit a problem then you stand a reasonable chance of being able to put the computer back to a time when you created the Restore Point (ie when it was working well) To put you rcomputer back to a time it was working well, you do this: Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore Point>Restore my computer to an earlier time. Then you select the date that you carefully wrote down and kept safe! Regards paws
