Why is my ZoneAlarm Security Alert telling me "Windows NT Logon Application is trying to access the Internet" when I have XP MediaCenter?

Deleting file C:\WINDOWS\system32\logon.exe
Error deleting C:\WINDOWS\system32\logon.exe - Set for removal on reboot - PLEASE REBOOT

Did you reboot?

Please use the Internet Explorer browser (or FireFox with IETab), and do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner

Note: If you have used this particular scanner before, you MAY HAVE TO UNINSTALL the program through Add/Remove Programs before downloading the new ActiveX component

Click Yes, when prompted to install its ActiveX component.
(Note.. for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the "Accept" button of the license, click on the "Zoom" tool located at the bottom right of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license has been accepted, reset to 100%.)
The program launches and downloads the latest definition files.
  • Once the files are downloaded click on Next
  • Click on Scan Settings and configure as follows:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended
    • Scan Options:Scan Archives
      Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK and, under select a target to scan, select My Computer
When the scan is done, in the Scan is completed window (below), any infection is displayed.
There is no option to clean/disinfect, however, we need to analyze the information on the report.
To obtain the report:
Click on: Save Report As (above - red blinking arrow)
Next, in the Save as prompt, Save in area, select: Desktop
In the File name area, use KScan, or something similar
In Save as type, click the drop arrow and select: Text file [*.txt]
Then, click: Save
Please post the Kaspersky Online Scanner Report in your reply.

"Deleting file C:\WINDOWS\system32\logon.exe Error deleting C:\WINDOWS\system32\logon.exe - Set for removal on reboot - PLEASE REBOOT Did you reboot? " Ans: Yes, I rebooted. I can never remember Kaspersky Online Scanner. I will drive to a parking lot with a signal and try the rest of your suggestions. This will take at least an hour.

I already tried that site on my own, from a search, but I couldn't figure it out. I was told Firefox needed to be restarted. I chose that icon (I think). I tried pasting this w t t page into its Options, I think, and that didn't work either. Since an hour ago, all I've been doing is is getting jammed in Firefox or whatever.

I tried searching Internet Explorer on google to add it. That hung up. I think that's what happened. I tried to download IE, the green time indicator bar was showing near the end, and Firefox went "Not Responding".

When I paste the WTT page into the add-on Options(?), and then refresh, the WTT page would show up with a little IE icon to the left of the address, but then more "Not Responding"

I'll try. I went, I think, the Internet Explorer homepage at microsoft and there was the link for Internet Explorer, Download now. I click it and it gets hung up. I click the WTT Kaspersky link while WTT is in Firefox, and get nothing. I searched Kaspersky online, found the page, check the link for the on-line scan and it seems that the only think there is the file scanner. Is that the same thing. OK, I will try DDS
