I don't know spec in that deep a detail to say whether or not it shows anything, but if you can check if it has chips down both sides that would be another area covered, but as a thought, can you see any details on the ram ? eg model number, that may help in trying to link it to this board maybe, so if you can see details if you could post them and we can try and see if that shows anything.

guy, it says pretty much the same on the module sticker as what's on the invoice: Major Brand 512mb DDR2 533mhz PC2-4200 240-Pin DIMM. yeah, it's definitely one-side, w/ chips on only one side. oh, & the item# is MM-512MBPC2533S though I believe that's just the vendor's #. (can I say the vendor is Komusa?) it's not on the module itself - just on their site & the invoice. it is odd that all 4 slots would be broke on the MB, but maybe something beyond the slots on the MB could be the culprit?

Well I'm stumped then, thought I was onto something then, I was hoping a model number would of shown more, oh well, There are just occasions when parts for whatever reason just wont play nice together, maybe this is one of those times, I don't suppose you have enough spare parts to swap the video card and the ram ? I'd be interested to see if a completely different brand would give any clues.

guy, yeah it's been screwy from the start like something didn't really jive. could be the Leadtek video card. I'll probably eventually take it to that computer shop where they have the spare parts to swap in & out for troubleshooting. I'll be getting another 2 of that 512mb ram back from the vendor soon, though that'll be the same Samsung brand. I'll test those when I get them. thanks!

TBH I would go for 2gig from Corsair, guaranteed to work with the board and will utilise dual channel which should be got as matched pairs, it is so cheap these days it's crazy not too IMHO.

man, that corsair is cheap - just US$30 for 2x1gb. I just paid about that for 2 more 512mb Samsung & thought that was cheap after paying about $70 for the same in 2006. figured that was best to match the original 2 to get up to a total of 2gb of ram. I just might try that from them for that price. could always return it for a refund, & just pay return postage within 30 days I assume. thanks!

Hey there, It took me about a year, but I finally got everything transfered into the new case & it looks like (fingers-crossed) it's all fine now. The problem looks like it was dust build-up, in both the CPU & video card. My Geforce graphics card has a little intake fan on the bottom of it, & it was coated with a layer of dust. CPU pretty dusty as well. That explains why the crashes when doing video or CPU intensive tasks. Thanks for the help!
