Restart your computer in Safe Mode. Press F8 after the Power-On Self Test (POST) is done. If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, try restarting and then pressing F8 several times after the POST screen. Choose the Safe Mode option from the Windows Advanced Options Menu then press Enter. This can take several miniutes to load. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ <<<<Delete all files in this folder.

Unable to get to safe mode tried several times kept getting stop error screen with

*** stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78A6524,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

went back to normal mode and looked in the windows\emp folder and the two files you specified were not there. There were some dat and text files only. Waited for over 1 min and suddenly winmbtewb.exe and wintsptdl.exe appeared just like they were being generated.

Did a reboot of the system and went back to explore windows\temp and found only dat and txt files. After about 1 min two new files were generated. They are winxwowfx.exe and xrqnt.exe.

Please go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

• Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
• It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
• When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
• Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:
  • Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
    Archives
    Mail databases
• Click on My Computer under Scan.
• Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
• You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
• Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.

Whatever is on this computer will not let me get to the Kaspersky website. Even started another session of IE and tried to go directly there but never would.

Lets try a different one then.

Lets run an F-Secure online scan it will scan for Viruses, Spyware and RootKits:

• Click HERE
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start scanning button. A window will pop up.
• Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button
• Click Full System Scan and allow the components to download and the scan to complete.
• If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
• When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
• Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan

• When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
• Click Automatic cleaning
• When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
• Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

Note: This scan will only work with Internet Explorer.
You must be logged on a administrator rights to run this scan.

• Double-click cureit.exe to start the program.
• Press Start and then OK to start the Express scan
• The Express scan takes just a few moments to finish, if something is found, click Yes to cure it
• Once the short scan has finished, Click Options->Change settings
• Choose the Scan tab and UN-CHECK Heuristic analysis
• Choose the Actions tab and make these changes:
  
  • Next to Infected objects select Report
  • Next to Incurable objects select Report
  • Next to Infected containers select Report
• At the bottom-left, UN-CHECK Prompt on action, then press OK to close the settings box.
• Note: These settings changes are IMPORTANT, please ensure you have made them before scanning
• Then select Complete scan and press the green arrow to start the scan
• When the scan is complete, click File-> Save report list, save the report to your desktop and close Dr Web CureIt
