Guess I just have one paging file then.

Hi Damare

Yes, that should be the case then. No need to worry then.

Good luck with your computing, and if you need any more advice or guiding, you just post

I just realized way back on page 1, in response to our suggestions to run Disk Cleanup,

What about the "More Options" menu? Windows components, Installed programs?

Sorry this was not answered earlier (unless I miss that too - ;))

I would not mess with "Windows Components" - no need to cripple Windows when you do have enough space for all features to run.

For installed programs, this is the same as going through Control Panel > Add and Remove Software. It is always a good idea to go through this periodically just so you are familiar with the contents, and are then able to notice that something has been added, perhaps without your knowledge. You would be amazed (and upset if like me) when you see the "junk" even "legitimate" companies unload on our systems. Toolbars, "partner" programs, etc. The sad part is, some may be considered spyware (or worse!) - at the very least, unwanted.
That said, you may see some stuff that you no longer use, and removing it may free up some precious space. Also note that many programs do not "install" - that is, they don't register themselves in the registry, but they occupy space on your drive. So a look under Program Files might reveal some contenders for deletions too. But be careful not to delete something you are not sure of. Rename the file or folder first and run with that for a week or two and make sure nothing you use breaks. If it does break, simply rename the folder back to the original name. If okay, delete. I always rename by simply adding - delete-5-1-2008 to the file or folder name. Then I can easily tell how long it has been since the change. Or, if I have to name it back, I know just to delete the end.

Now for More Options. Here's where you might free up some more space. If you dig down there, under System Restore, you can delete all but the latest restore point . Since you said it seems be running good now, now might be a good time to delete all but the most recent, then set a new one.

Guess I just have one paging file then.

Hmmm, but you said you have it set and "fixed" at 1024Mb, and yet your sysinfo list says, 1.34Gb or 1340Mb.

"Hmmm, but you said you have it set and "fixed" at 1024Mb, and yet your sysinfo list says, 1.34Gb or 1340Mb" I checked it again to make sure. I do have both values set at 1024, and the sysinfo list is still 1.34GB. So who knows? I did the system restore suggestion. Did not gain a whole a lot. The only thing I saw in the Add/Remove program list that caught my attention was the Microsoft .NET Framework set. I know I started with 1.1. I downloaded a program that said it needed at least the 2.0 MNF to work, so I got that. (which took up 186.00MB). Now I seem to also have the MNF 3.0 service pack 1 (125.00MB) & the MNF 3.5 (25.07MB). Do I need these for my cpu? I not even sure what these do. Also went thru the Program Files section, and really didnt see anything I dont use, so I left alone. Thanks again

I would leave the net framework - you may eventually end up and still need several versions to use certain programs and feature.
