I voted for MalwareMilitia.com but i didn't read the whole thread before voting.

Sorry Blair. I voted 'neither'. I really REALLY like the name we were discussing earlier, that is already owned by someone. Would be great if he would let us use it. I won't say it until after you've talked to him, though. :P

:wavey: hi Janie!!

I like the other name as well, but i don't like the idea of making someone that owns it to sell it or give it for using. He owns it and it is his period of using it..

If we don't like MalwareMilitia.com or SpywareSupport.com maybe finding something more original by us would be better then asking someone to give us their name.

Malware Terminators
Malware Eradication

Or as suggested above, to cover more ground: PC Therapists

These doesn't look bad at all. So maybe if people keep posting their ideas here, we will find something original, functional and not used so far.

Just my two cents.

I voted for SpywareSupport as I think most users relate to the term Spyware more than Malware. I know before I started training at the various forums I did not think of Malware when I had any problems.

Voted for neither. Don't like Malware Militia, don't like anything military really. Spyware Support sounds like you're supporting Spyware. If you like alliteration then. Malware Murderers, Malware Marmalisers, Malware Muggers, Malware Molesters, Move-My-Malware or maybe Slay-my-Spyware, Spyware Slaughterers, Stick your Spyware, Spyware Sucks (think that might already be in use sorry Sandi).

MalwareMilitia.com is much better than SpywareSupport, although...

Agreed. Just keep on posting those ideas :)

I voted none, but cant think of a replacement just yet. What you have to think of, is what the average home user googles when they realise they have a infection. Something that would be at the top of page 1 of the results.

I voted for 'None' because I think Militia is inappropriate and, like others, I think SpywareSupport sounds strangely misleading. Some other names could be - some may be in use: Computer Experts Computer Security Computer Support Virus Busters Virus Removal VanquishThatVirus

Keep the ideas coming. It doesn't have to have a name of spyware / malware. Look at BC, PCPit, CC, G2G and TC. All top sites. I would think the below are already in use, but the idea has promise. Total Computer Support (TCS) Computer Cleaner Services (CCS)

Just a thought, the OCP (other computing problem) forum is growing, and we've discussed adding forums for software, hardware, etc. Maybe we shouldn't limit ourselves to malware/spyware/security?

Very good point!

I think Miekie may be onto something here :weee:

Based on this idea:

What you have to think of, is what the average home user googles when they realise they have a infection. Something that would be at the top of page 1 of the results.

Try searching for a fav term to base your name on ...some examples follow.

When I read your post there miekie I though of this term which is frequently seen in forums seeking help as in:
"Help! I'm infected..."

And the #1 in search terms? Just played with a couple....

Results 1 - 10 of about 748,000,000 for Security . (0.11 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 415,000,000 for Please help me. (0.14 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 70,200,000 for Spyware. (0.15 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 24,200,000 for Malware. (0.11 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 2,370,000 for Infected computer. (0.12 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 2,130,000 for Help I'm infected. (0.12 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 123,000 for TomCoyote. (0.10 seconds)

Hmmmm, "Security" seems to return big results. Maybe: SecuritySolutions? Something like that?

Malware Busters :)

If you just stick with the malware theme then this is a nice name  . Another would be SpywareBusters.

If you go the other route, how about TechSupportPros. I liked TotalTechSupport but it's taken darn it <_< .

I agreee with CJ ( by the way hi CJ and all :) ) choosing a name that gets you up the list for searches as well as key phrases is important. For what it is worth I voted for neither.
