If you want to see what was replaced, right click My Computer > manage, expand event viewer > system.

Was anything replaced? Are you still having problems with your computer?

There are "warning" flags next to all the DCHP files, as well as one "error" sign. There is also an "error" next to a file called IPNATHLP, and one for RemoteAccess, cdrom, and Service Control Manager. There is an "information" flag next to the files labeled TCIP. -- Those were all from the event viewer. So far, I haven't recieved any worm/vb.dw warnings today, and the computer is running at normal speed.

Ok. I just re-ran sfc, and it only came up with 7 items in the event viewer, none of them warnings or errors. Just "information" tabs on TCpip, Browser, and Windows File Protection.

Are you able to use Internet Explorer again? I was hoping that the sfc may have replaced the files and fixed that problem?

No luck with IE. Everytime I try to open the browser, it tells me that it can't locate IEXPLORE.exe. I am also still having problems with Paint. It opens, but freezes every time.

Please download FileFind from Atribune.
Unzip the file and save it to your desktop.

To run FileFind, please do the following:

• Click on FileFind.exe
• In the box labeled "Enter the directory to search"
• Enter Drive eg.. C:\
• In the box labeled "Enter the file to search"
• Enter the file IEXPLORE.exe
• Now click on the "Find" button
• Once the utility has found the files click on "Export"
• This will save a text file to your C:\ drive as /Export.txt

Double click on Export.txt, copy and paste, this information in your next reply.

Let's try to reinstall IE6.

I located Iexplore.exe, and the file ran successfully....or so it seemed...I can only locate Internet Explorer through the search option, and when I click on it, it doesn't run right. I managed to restore Paint, Calc, etc. on my own with the Windows XP disc. There was an option to "Install Additional Windows Components", and I clicked them all, including Accessories and Internet Explorer. Well, the accessories worked, but IE still is just an "about blank" screen. I have tried new addresses in the toolbar, but nothing happens...just a white screen.

Now, I recognize the name of the files that came up. They all also came up when I did a search in Windows. When I clicked on them to open, they all did the "about:blank" screen in the IE window.
