I have some "help in the works" concerning your BSOD and System restore problem. I'll let you know when we find a something for you to try.. That particular BSOD can be caused by a "Boot Sector" virus, but I would think your resident AV or the French Housecall would detect it if present. Next time you post, let me know if you have Windows XP CD's available.

Still not seeing anything amok in the registry. We'll just consider that a dead issue.

Get your Windows CD's "cocked an ready", and we'll see if you have some corrupted system file.

Login to an account with "Administrator" privileges.

Go to:

Start --> Run

In the box type (or "paste") in:

sfc /scannow

then hit <enter> (or click OK)

Thats "sfc[SPACE]/scannow"

That's short for "System File Checker"

Here's a tutorial of sorts you might want to peek at first:

SFC Info

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

Ive ran into a problem, what i thought was the Windows CDs arent it. Well they are just not Home edition. The CDs i found were Pro. So theres going to be a delay, ill need to check up with my mom secretary for the CDs. The windows Vista is on a seperate HD i have in the computer in my room lol *removable* I just put it on there just to say i have vista when its not even out yet But im having to keep re-insallting it due to the 30 day activation carp**. I dont have internet in my room and i really dont want to activate it cuz >.> <.< its a bootleg Also I removed the ad-ware and sypbot software i dled and installed Windows Defender (Beta 2)

Ok so we've ran into a bigger problem. We dont have Windows XP home CDs, we have Windows XP Pro. CDs. Somehow my father had upgraded with the dell dealer and now we dont have home CDs, which doesnt make any sence , we should still have the Home CDs. But i cant seem to find them. Is there another way we can do this Micah_6:8?
