Little Eagle, After the 1st running of L2m and after the reboot, but before I ran shredder, ewido found the following files infected with look2me.... mgdsrv32.dll guard.tmp I'll continue on as instruced with your last post.

Little Eagle, AFter I ran L2m fix for the 2nd time it gave the same response. Please fix missing file 020 with hijack this. I am now going to run ewido and post another hijack this log.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following,

O20 - Winlogon Notify: Syncmgr - C:\WINDOWS\system32\dn8m01l1e.dll (file missing)
O23 - Service: Command Service (cmdService) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\Um9iZXJ0IEtpdmxlbg\command.exe (file missing)

Then double-click on the killbox.exe program.
When the program is open, select the option labeled Delete on reboot.
Do not close killbox, and open notepad, by clicking on Start, then Run, and typing notepad.exe and pressing the OK button.
When notepad is open, copy and paste the following bolded text into the notepad screen. You do this by highlighting each of the below bolded filenames and then pressing Control-C on your keyboard. Then click on the open notepad windows and press Control-V to paste the contents into the notepad.

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu and select Paste from Clipboard.
Still in Killbox, click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click No at the Pending Operations prompt.
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account
which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because
you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.


Backup your Registry...
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run...)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL

I recommend you download RegSeeker <http://www.hoverdesk.../freeware.htm>. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done.

Little Eagle, It appears the file listed below won't delete. I have tried it a few times running hijackthis, checking it, then copying it into killbox, the 1st file worked. C:\WINDOWS\Um9iZXJ0IEtpdmxlbg\command.exe Should I just continue with step 3 restore?? and continue with the other steps you recommended? Thanks...

Here are the directions for creating a zip file For Windows XP:
Using Windows Explorer, locate the first file you want to zip.
Right click on the file and select Send To and Compressed (zipped) Folder.
Right click any other files you want to compress and select Copy.
Right click on the compressed folder and select Paste. The copied files will be compressed and pasted in.

Little Eagle, I can't find the file when doing a search..I have set view to show all hidden and system files. C:\WINDOWS\Um9iZXJ0IEtpdmxlbg I'm not sure it is causing any issues right now as there aren't any browsers opening on their own presently. I am also running the registry program...it found 1405 cases... Now what?? Thanks!!!

Little Eagle, I ran RegSeeker, and deleted the 1405 cases it found, since the rebbot all appears normal... Can I do another Restore Now, is it possible to have more than one restore point? I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!!

Yes you can have more than one restore point. And yes make one and name it "use this"
Should you need to you can move back in time

But securing your PC would be the best thing to do.
