Yup, that's the same one I found. Downloaded it and looking through it, I see no mention of any wireless device.  In your first post, you said:

my computer is connected to my modem via an Ethernet cable and my modem to a wireless router via cable

I think I got off on a wild goose chase and you don't have Wireless internet, just a LAN connection via a Ethernet cable, so you can forget everything I've said about Wifi.

First I would think the connections would be reversed. Modem would be your connection to your ISP and would have one Ethernet port. It would have a Ethernet connection to your Wireless Router which normally has 4 Ethernet ports plus WiFi. Your computer would then be connected via Ethernet cable to one of the router ports.

Can you check and verify exactly how you are connected?

What is the make and full model number of the router? How long have you had it? How many things are connected to it via Ethernet cable?

Will wait for answers to my questions.

Can try removing the router from the path by connecting the computer directly to the modem for awhile but that depends on how things are connected now.

Sorry gone so long.  I eventually brought my computer in to the guys that built it as things were only getting worse and it was shutting  down more frequently.  They fixed the issue of the black screens I was getting by replacing my SSD drive (the one with My OS on it).  My network problem persisted however. I continued to disconnect from the network spontaneously.  They then Looked at error codes and they narrowed it down to the fact that it seems as though my Cryptoprevent software, my Malwarebytes Premium software, and my McAfee antivirus programs were conflicting and possibly messing with my firewall.  They uninstalled Cryptoprevent and Malwarebytes and left McAfee and this solved the problem. I am completely back to normal.

Thanks for your help.

I would have dumped McAfee and kept Malwarebytes, but I'm glad you have a solution. Congrats on being so persistent.

Malwarebytes doesn’t have antivirus capability as far as I know. It is mainly for malware, correct?

No, MBAM ow considers itself a Antivirus as well as a Malware defense.

Press Windows + X and click on 'Device Manager'. Now, right click on network adapter and choose 'Uninstall'. Click on 'Delete the driver software for this device'. Reboot the system and Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.  techzpod download mobdro

If you've deleted the driver it will have nothing to automatically reinstall and since the NIC is not working it can't get it from Windows Update.

Make sure you download the latest driver for the NIC and have it handy before following ambizop's directions.
