Why dont you post here in our Windows forum, you can link them to this thread and tell them it was recommended to do a System Repair, this does not format your drive and do a clean install of windows, this will install windows over the current copy and fix any errors in the process

Yes, you can drag them all to the trash

This will remove Combofix, if it does not you can drag it to trash as well

Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bolded text into the Run box and click OK:
ComboFix /Uninstall

Make sure you have an internet connection as ESET needs to update its database, disable Avast and Comodo and then run ESET, just so you know I have seen this run in an hour or so on some systems and on others a few hours so take your time, I will be away most of the day and returning late this afternoon

I double clicked to start and it told me an anti virus program is still running. Comodo is off and gone from the tray, avast is in the tray but with a red X over it. could it be windows firewall? or should i just run the scan?

The above link tells me to do what i have been doing. Both Avast and Comodo are showing up. I disabled Comodo and pressed exit, it went from the tray. Avast i disabled until the computer is restarted and the red X appears in the tray.

I've had the scan on now for 3 hours, i had no idea it would take this long. it's nearing 2am and it's only at 93% complete. Need sleep and i have to turn the computer off.

The only time i'll get to leave the PC on for 3-4 hours is saturday, just letting you know so this thread isn't closed. apologies for another delay.

Thats fine, I have seen it run on some systems in an hour or so and others it may take the better part of the day, depends on your system and how many programs you have installed and also the size of your hard drive

  • When the scan completes, push esetListThreats.png
  • Push esetExport.png, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as
ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Push the esetBack.png button.
  • Push esetFinish.png
Please make sure you include the following items in your next post:
The log that was produced after running ESET Online Scanner.

None of this seems possible. the scan ended and this is what was shown
