Hmm, out of ideas here. These sort of things are usually driver related. But the drive may be damaged as I stated in my first post, and as this topic evolves and nothing works, I may point to that. That it is broken, or near broken. Maybe only the lens, but its still cheaper to buy a new DVD drive, than try repair it. A couple of last straws, could be the wiring....Or if the manufacturer have some FAQ / Info on your type of drive, for this problem. Regards Abydos

this is my favorite free burning app and the only one that includes the bus trace utility and a registry editor for removing the upper/lower filters

it's under tools

if course I am biased, nero, sonic or gear have never made me a betatester

I suspect you just have a wornout slimline drive, they don't hold up well and that particular model wasn't that good to start with

the new pioneer is supposed to be good

did you test a bootable cd?

that part was critical
