Sorry Blair. I voted 'neither'. I really REALLY like the name we were discussing earlier, that is already owned by someone. Would be great if he would let us use it. I won't say it until after you've talked to him, though. :P :wavey: hi Janie!!

There has to be a name that carries more sizzle than those two, and I'm sure someone will think of it soon. Posted Image

Voted None. Don't like the word Militia and SpywareSupport sounds like we would be supporting spyware. Just one persons opinon

Guess what I voted?

None of the above. :P

Driving home from dinner tonight it took me a couple of minutes to even remember malwaremilitia. If I can't remeber it, who can? Possibly too obscure on both accounts. The majority of people would probably be confused by malware, militia or both. Anyone want to buy a domain name cheap ;)

SpywareSupport is direct and to the point. Easy to remember, and good illiteration. I think of it like tech support, only spyware support. Who would really think we're supporting spyware? Anyway, it does lack sizzle, and I think we can do better.

Just a thought, the OCP (other computing problem) forum is growing, and we've discussed adding forums for software, hardware, etc. Maybe we shouldn't limit ourselves to malware/spyware/security?

I think that's an excellent point.

I think you should use a name that people instantly recognize and relate with top notch help something along the lines of TomCoyote Just my opinion, and you obviously have your reasons, but it is a well known and respected title why ditch it !! Sorry if you think I am out of order, but you do ask for opinions

We appreciate your opinion! Yes, there are legitimate reasons for changing the name. What does Tom Coyote literally mean? A male cat and a large dog? Hmm... I think we can do better.

I think to millions of PC user's it means good advice and help :)

Companies pay a fortune to keep the name of a well respected business because of the customer base

Anyway, it has nothing to do with me so I will bow out and stop being a pain :D :wavey:

I do agree the "brand" is well respected. My weak effort at making a point was that any name can be synonymous with the features you list. However, the fact remains that we need to pick a new name.

Now that's out of the way let's be positive :D M.I.N.A. Malware Is Not Acceptable or if you are going down the general help road, you need something else Problem Solved ??? Question -- will the classroom still be operating ? If so I would go with the anti spyware/malware route

Yes, but just because the site has a spyware/malware/badware school, does it mean it has to be in their domain name?

No it doesn't have to, but,
(personal opinion on its way :) )

General computer problems tend to be much the same from one year to the next and are pretty well covered already
(sorry if this offends the general help guys and gals)
where as malware changes on a very regular basis
I think that we need more sites that are anti malware oriented rather than general help

Just a thought :)
