Another update for Admin - this may or may not help.

While trying to solve the problem with IE that I had/have I posted on 8 different forums the exact same thread as posted in "Other Computer Problems".

http://forums.tomcoy..._Me_t80359.html

Several well respected Volunteers posted back they also could not access the TC site mentioned in my first post at the site above. Some could and some said it was very slow.

Today with IE, Firefox, and Opera, I can access TC, but still cannot send a PM from TC forum site. However I can when reading a thread from the left hand side by clicking on the members name and scrolling down to "Send a message".

 regards, and many thanks for the hours you are putting in to solve TC problems.

Who are you trying to PM? If it's a member with less the 10 post, they don't have PM rights.

Can you click on the members name and scroll down to "Send a message" like the others? It's possible they have their PM turned off.

Now that I think about it, how do you send a pm without clicking on the members name?

Quote from my earlier post.

"Today with IE, Firefox, and Opera, I can access TC, but still cannot send (1)a PM from TC forum site. However I can when(2) reading a thread from the left hand side by clicking on the members name and scrolling down to "Send a message"."

They have not got their PM turned off, I cannot send the PM as above to anyone I choose with the first option, but can with the second method already posted and quoted above.

The only way I know of to PM someone is by clicking the users name and selecting "Send Message".

Just exactly as you describe above " clicking the users name and selecting "Send Message". That works now for me but did not until a couple of days ago.

If I click on this site http://forums.tomcoy...org/forums.html scroll down and click on any username who is logged on I do not get their profile information, I get an error like this:

Board Message
Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:
Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

I believe from a TC Staff Member that I should get the usernames profile information. I do not

There is also another fault I have found when on this page, if you scroll up and click on TomCoyote Forums I get this error:

IPB WARNING [2] init(/home/coyote/public_html/forums/modules/blog/lib/lib_blogfunctions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory (Line: 83 of /sources/portal_plugins/blogs.php)
IPB WARNING [2] init(/home/coyote/public_html/forums/modules/blog/lib/lib_blogfunctions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory (Line: 83 of /sources/portal_plugins/blogs.php)

But on this same page if you scroll to the top and click on TomCoyote.org you get the correct page, then click on Forums and you get TomCoyote Forums

Try it and see if you find the same as I do.

I am only trying to help TC with Comments and Suggestions so the techs do know of the minor problems with TC in general that are from my end.

Hope this helps

kind regards,

Easy to fix when it's reproducible. Thanks for sticking with it. There was a permission set incorrectly for authentic members that denied access to the member profiles. I corrected it. Regarding the Tomoyote Forums link, I don't see that anywhere. I have to assume you were viewing an old cached page. The error was related to the blogs, and they were uninstalled here some time ago.

Thanks Blair for fixing

permission set incorrectly for authentic members that denied access to the member profiles

That now works for me since receiving your last post.
No, to my knowledge I am not viewing

an old cached page

If I go through that same exercise as I explained in my last post now on this page at the top under:

INVISION POWER BOARD:
TomCoyote.orgTomCoyote Forums Rules

I still get the errors quoted below, ie

IPB WARNING.........etc

The above error still remains.

Thanks with kind regards,
