Go to:

Start --> Run

In the box type in services.msc then hit <enter> (or click OK)

In the Name column in the next screen look for:

Compaq Advisor

<Double-click> it.

In the window that opens up, click Stop to stop that service.

In the Startup type box, change it to Manual.

Click Apply then OK

Close the services.msc window.

Reboot.

Make another HijackThis! log file to be sure it isn't present.
