Can you load a video from your local PC and does it run OK? To load a video from the net, try Right Click on the video and select save. Save it to your local hard drive then play it. When you try loading a video from the net, that web site can be busy and will time-out.

I can play a DVD and I can play a video from a video file on my hard drive. The problem I am having with playing video from a website is that when it starts buffering it goes back and forth and never quite buffers the whole video. For example, it will show the percent buffered as 2% then 3% then 2% then 4%, slowly getting up to say 13% then 12% then 14%. Does that make sense. The problem seems to be in the buffering, not in the site timing out. I've never had this problem before so that's why I thought it might be related to the spyware problem I was having. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Paul

Are you keeping windows updated? I have the same issues sometimes myself but if I download the video, it works fine.

If you mean automatic downloads for updating windows, then, yes I am keeping windows updated. If it is not an automatic update then I guess I'm not. RE: Downloading the videos: I'm not sure I follow you on how to download them. When I right click on a video "save" is not one of the options I get.

Cable (sbc dsl). I don't remember if I mentioned but I have never had this problem. Usually a video like the one you saw plays almost instantly.

Try this:
You'll need to shutdown to do this: Uplug the Power from the Modem and router if you have one. Wait for about 5 mins and plug the Power back in. See if that helps.

If that doesn't help, post a new HJT log.
