Please print out or copy these instructions\tutorials to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Download SmitRem.exe © noahdfear to your Desktop.
From HERE

Posted Image

Double-click the smitRem.exe and it will extract the files to a smitRem folder on your Desktop.

Posted Image

Please download the trial version of ewido security suite. Install ewido security suite and start the program from the icon on your desktop, then check for and download updates. Don't Run Yet.

Reboot to safe mode

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool.

Posted Image

Follow the prompts on screen. Your desktop and icons will disappear and then reappear again --- this is normal.
Wait for the tool to complete and Disk Cleanup to finish --- this may take a while; please be patient.

Open Ewido Security Suite
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
In the Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize desktop > Website > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Empty recycle bin.

Reboot Normal.

Download this file from the link to your desktop.
http://www.mvps.org/.../DelDomains.inf

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection

...still bugged tho' You think my computer could just be "un-tuned" rather than bugged (it still is a possibility, I believe), it all started with DrWatson32 crashing windows explorer, since I disabled it the error message is still showing at any movie media being opened, once again, crashing explorer in the process, i know I already described that, but could it be a possible behaviour for an infected comuter ?

Lets use windows sfc (system file checker) You'd need your XP CD to make this work. Click Start> Run> type sfc /scannow (Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow) This will repair any bad windows files

well, still the same problem, so, more precisely: Whenever I open a movie file from the specific Emule downloads folder with any media player (usualy VLC), the error message appears (http://img55.imagesh...ionerror1zx.jpg) and if I press ok, explorer will crash down, all icon and taskbar disappear from the desktop, CPU usage up 100, and it will specificaly take down anti-spyware blocker, Ad-Watch and super copier, although the processes are running, I cannot use them, it seemed, this time (at least this time I noticed) that when I close those processes fom taskmanager, CPU usage comes back to normal. Most alerts I get from Avast are from java applet, related to some [Gen]:Malware or something, at least that seems to be after this alerts that I started to get crass... Don't know what to do, the thing is after the initial crash, if I keep the player open during (oddly, any other open process will not crash up until I close them), evrything seems (+ or -) ok... Nonetheless, I'm sure it was a good thing that I could repair those bad windows files ...Now, have I got any other solution than format, you'd say ? I'd like this to be the last of my choices, but it seems I'm gonna have to anyways, is just that now ain't the best time... Let me know if you think of anything else, or if you need another log or something Thanks again

Hi, I found this page while google-ing my similar problem. I initially thought I had this same problem with DrWatson32.exe, but I later found out that I actually have the process, drwtsn32.exe.. haha. Drwtsn32.exe is a legit debugger program by Windows, but DrwAtsOn32.exe IS a virus, a dremn trojan, that logs your keystrokes and information.. http://www.symantec....ojan.dremn.html

However, some of the effects are vey similar. I realized that on some particular video files that I download, they practically crash my computer for a few seconds before it corrects itself, as you described. When I open the folder that the video file is in, it immediately uses up most of the memory and causes it to be very slow.. until I ctrl+alt+delete and exit the folder myself. If I don't exit myself, that drwatson dialog box also comes up. I found a way around it to view the video through opening Windows Media Player, selecting open and finding the file through there. I also right clicked and selected the properties of those certain files that I downloaded and noticed that the problem was because of the compression in the summary section. The problems were all related to videos that had "3ivx d4 4.5.1 vi3ivx d4 4.5.1 video..." under the compression section.

Check your processes the next time you have this problem and verify if it indeed IS drwatson32.exe or drwtsn32.exe. I did many virus checkers, Ad-Aware, SpyBot, NOD 32, and various online ones, and found NO traces of any viruses. I was skeptical at first about the validity of the scans, but I've concluded it's just a compression problem. I tried installing 3ivx, but no change...

Good luck, and as for me, I'm still trying to figure out how to correct the codec problem haha.

I'm not sure DrWatson32.exe (as spelled) actualy was the initial problem, because since I disabled it, I cannot find any trace of it nowhere in running applications, all I get now is an error message and a crash when I press ok. It could be a compression (or something) bug, but cannot recognise the symptoms... Thanks for the hand though As for my codecs problems, I just erased all codecs from my system and switched to VLC, never needed anything more ever since...

A newer fix has come out and I hope this resloves some of the issues.

Please follow the steps here.. If this does not work I dont think it is a spyware issue.
