Did you reboot? If not do so and post a new log.
If you did reboot, run REGEDIT4 again.

yes i had rebooted. I clicked on the desktop icon again. It asked if i am sure........ I said yes and it said it had put it in the registry. I notice that if I click on it again it says the same thing as if it hadn't done what it said it did. I rebooted again. When you say run regedit4 again do you mean do the procedure again using only that word and number?

Something is stopping the fix. Lets do this.

use Add/Remove programs amd remove:
Spysweeper and Ewido.
They are only 14 day trial versions anyway

After the above:
Reboot and do this again

3. Double-click on ResetAppInit.reg. When it asks you to merge the information to the registry click Yes

Scan with HJT and post a new log.

i took out spysweeper and ewido-- i still have adaware and spybot. I tried again and rebooted.

that's the file that I have been unable to delete. It is in system 32. When I try to delete it--- it can't be deleted because "It is being used by another person or program". I just tried again-- can't do it.

Open HijackThis

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\repairs303169545.dll


Click on the Back button to exit Process Manager

Now, back at the main screen of HijackThis, proceed to Scan.
and put a check by these.

This isn't going the way you describe so I don't know that I'm doing it correctly. when I click on delete a file on reboot, a window opens asking me to enter it. I do and hit open. It then asks me to reboot saying windows will delete it. I do but it doesn't. The next time I say no don't reboot. I go back scan and attempt to fix-- it won't. I'm not sure where your mention of process manager comes into play.

Start Killbox and click on Tools->Delete Temp Files.
Then select the option labeled Delete on reboot.
Then, in the Full Path of File to Delete box copy/paste the following entry:

Press the button with a red circle and a white X (Delete File button)
KillBox will alert you: All listed files will be deleted on next Reboot
Click Yes
Next prompt will be: Files will be removed on reboot. Do you want to reboot now?
Select YES

Now lets see if it's gone.

Note: This will remove all previous Restore Points

Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn it back on.

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Remove the Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Check "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, Uncheck "Show hidden files and folders."
Check "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.





If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.
