Have you ever worked with the Registry via Regedit?

Skip the Restore part then.

I suggest you get those free programs.

Lets do the cleanup like this then.

Please download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.
Run as illustrated here.

The only way I know how to maybe correct that would be going into the Registry. If you don't know what you're doing and make changes to the Registry, you can kill your PC.
Here's a link if you want to give it a go.
http://www.winguides...isplay.php/980/

You'd need to change the Value to 0.
Value Data: (0 = Properties, 1 = No Properties)

Backup your Registry...
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run...)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL

click Start>Run and type regedit tap enter key.

I have done what you have recommended. I ran Registry Mechanic and it found 771 selections. I am not sure what you mean by You'd need to change the Value to 0. Value Data: (0 = Properties, 1 = No Properties)

Is there a Administrator login on your PC? If so, login as administrator and see if you can see the properties. I really don't want to mess with the registry.
