The one Ztrucker recommended is a good way to go. You do have your serial number correct as you will need it during the installation.

I downloaded the : Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River but will need to go and buy some disc with a larger capacity than the ones I have. Also, I went back through the earlier suggestions and downloaded the Seagate SeaTools and ran that. It didn't even detect the hard drive for me to run the tests? Are there other tests I shoud do to check the hard drive itself?

You could try chkdsk

Go to
Start and then to Run
Type in Chkdsk /r Note the space between k and /
Click Enter ...It will probably ask if you want to do this on the next reboot...click Y
If the window doesn't shutdown on its own then reboot the system manually. On reboot the system will start the chkdsk operation
This one will take longer then chkdsk /f

Note... there are 5 stages...
It may appear to hang at a certain percent for a hour or more or even back up and go over the same area...this is normal...
DO NOT SHUT YOUR COMPUTER DOWN WHILE CHKDSK IS RUNNING OR YOU CAN HAVE SEVERE PROBLEMS
This can take several hours to complete.
When completed it will boot the system back into windows.

Reboot after your done running chkdsk /r...
then Go to Start...Run and type: eventvwr.msc press Enter
When Event Viewer opens, click on Applications... then scroll down to Winlogon and double-click on it. This is the log created after running Checkdisk...copy and paste the log back here

We will advise after studying the log.

Yes but I think once you install the fresh windows you will find the system will be much faster since all your data and programs will be gone.

I have the same problems and nothing mentioned here fixed it. Is there a freeware alternative to this one http://www.simplitec...us/power-suite/ or should I buy it. A friedn of mine told me that it fixed his problems, but I don't want to spend money for it ;)

Please start your own topic
Although your issue may seem similar there can be other factors that may need to be resolved.
By bumping on someone's topic it makes it confusing for the tech to understand who they are helping. This can in turn cause the wrong support to be given and can cause instability or worse to happen to your system.
Please post more information as to your exact issue in your topic. Include any error messages you get as well as your system specs. This will help us to assist you more efficiently.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Yep Your right...

all the answers on this forum do not really address the issue in hand,,,

I spent a whole day trying to speed up the boot time on a Samsung..and Im a tech expert..

in short all I can tell you is its a major flaw in all Samsung laptops...maybe thats why they do not make them anymore??

I think the folks who designed them just DID NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING...and were Idiots when it came to knowing TECh...

hopesthis helps??
