Nope. He murdered her so she would be dead.

The bridesmaid asked him to. I'll explain later,

He had no contact with the bridesmaid after the wedding... nor any way to contact her.

It was a mercy killing. Most places consider it to be murder.

Is this a Chapman/Lennon type of situation?

@Terry, I had not noticed that response... but it is incorrect. Again, it's about his infatuation with the bridesmaid. @Keith, Uhm... maybe? What do you mean? Why did Chapman kill Lennon? I really don't know why he did it.

It's been a long time and I don't remember what they called it but it had to do with hero worship. I vaguely seem to recall there was a girl indirectly involved. Chapman was a huge Lennon fan. In his twisted mind he believed by killing him he would "inherit" Lennon's fame. He also believed he would be impressing others with his act becoming a hero bigger than the hero himself. Just a thought that John was trying to impress the bridesmaid. Exuce me while go out and get some more straw.

John wasn't trying to impress the bridesmaid. He did not plan on getting pinched for the murder.

Bingo... well done terry1966!

John was infatuated with the bridesmaid and couldn't stop thinking about her.... yet he had no way to contact her. He figured if he could just see her again, he would get her last name, phone number, address... whatever. After a couple of weeks of trying to figure out how to see her again, he finally concluded that the bridesmaid was obviously a pretty close friend of the bride or she wouldn't have been in the wedding party. He figured that if the bride was to die... the bridesmaid would be at the funeral. He didn't really think about the bride at all... she was just a tool to be used in arranging a funeral that he hoped the bridesmaid would attend.

So... That makes a couple for oldman960, and one each for JonTom, and terry1966. How about you all share some garlic fried chicken.
