Going to download a trial ver of Acronis, is what I used here in my office. To see if he likes the program or not, to cost is not that high, but as he told he has something he paid for called datasafe online and I looked at it from Dells website - https://www.delldata...c=us&l=en&s=dhs not sure how this would work in his case, could if he had all his stuff or the entire drive restore back once I setup windows ?

Hi Jimmy,
Yes Acronis is good ( I use it myself!) along with Paragon., if he is after free disc imaging applications then there are plenty of good ones available:..see here:
http://www.thefreeco...pandimage.shtml

the delldatasafe seems to be purely a program to back up data... there is nothing wrong in that (although I have no experience of that program) but what is needed is a program that will make a disc image (one that will be put back Windows itself and all the installed applications etc...not just the data...
Hope this helps

Gald this machine could have been used for tech training consider it being a Win 7 64 bit machine, it gave me some insite and mabey later on down the road when another op post here I may be able to help that person with same problems this machine had.
