"I'm good I'm good at seein' the signs I'm good at readin' between the lines No use in hangin' on 'Cause you're good to go And baby I'm ..............................." This is a little boondocks country band that has had a big splash on YouTube I think they must have showed up 2 years ago or so. They rapidly became favorites for me. And now I haven't seen any new selections for almost those 2 years. Edit: It seems their first releases came out in 2002, and I've just stumbled upon a whole new batch of stuff I haven't heard before, all the way up to 2010. I'm happy as a pig in ......... er, the boondocks. :P

"Good as Gone" - Little Big Town

I don't think I heard of this band before maybe two years or so ago when they were on tour with Carrie Underwood. "Little White Church" gets played on the radio quite often if you listen to a station that plays "New" country.

Now... one of my favorite bands with one of their best songs (though I have alot of favorite bands seeing as how I basically like all kinds of music... which doesn't include rap):

You talk about things that nobody cares
You're wearing out things that nobody wears
You're calling my name but I gotta make clear
I can't say baby where I'll be in a year

Absolutely one of the Greatest Rock Bands! Aerosmith Sweet Emotion I'll come back with a next entry in a moment. Edit: Here's one of the all time best Ballad Singers from our Canadian neighbors. Saw him at the Circle Star Theatre in Sacrament, CA in the mid-70's I was "astonished" because in opening, he lectured the audience about clapping, singing along, staying seated, and such. He stated that his music was his precision. He didn't want anything to disturb that precision. Let me tell you, though puzzling and a bit "off-putting" at first, his performance exceeded any expectations I or anyone in the audience may have had. I think he died years ago, but if he told me today, to be quiet and just listen to the music.... I'd follow his directions. Between notes, between words, between songs, you could hear a pin drop in that auditorium. And it was well worth the self-discipline. And the precision of his live musical presentation was superb! Here's part of the lyrics of one of his best. ".................................................. what a tale my thoughts could tell. Just like an old time movie about a ghost from a wishing well. In a castle dark or a fortress strong with chains upon my feet the story always ends. And if you read between the lines you'll know that I'm just trying to understand." the feeling that you left.

"If you could read my mind" - Gordon Lightfoot

PS... He's not dead yet.

The artist for this next song has passed on. I had the opportunity to see him at the old Paramount Theater (now the Arlene Schnitzer Concert hall) in Portland on two different occasions. It's a very intimate venue that was perfect place to see him (as well as anybody - it was my favorite place to see good concerts) as the farthest seats from the stage are only like 40 rows back. During the concert you felt like he was sitting in your living room visiting with you and your friends.

This song never made it on any charts that I know of... but it was one of his best when he performed live.

But music was his life, it was not his livelihood,
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good.
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul.
He did not know how well he sang; It just made him whole.

I don't know that one, so I looked it up. I even got to listen to a 30 sec clip of the tune. good lyrics, good vocal, good instrumentation. I'll leave it open for anyone who might "know" the tune and artist.

That is Broken by Seether with Amy Lee from Evanessence. Here are mine Have you come here for forgiveness Have you come to raise the dead Have you come here to play Jesus To the lepers in your head Did I ask too much More than a lot You gave me nothing Now it's all I got We're one But we're not the same Well we Hurt each other Then we do it again You say Love is a temple Love a higher law Love is a temple Love the higher law You ask me to enter But then you make me crawl And I can't be holding on To what you got When all you got is hurt

Sorry, I'm going to change mine to an old favorite....probably an old favorite of most the people that have responded to this thread.(I hope) :P

Feel free to answer both for BONUS points.

And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, to the alley or the trusty woods
I used her, she used me
But neither one cared

Enjoy
