Did it uninstall? Did you reboot?

After removing IE8 and rebooting, problem remains. Clicked My Documents folder, (it opened a bit faster) double clicked a file, & it took >1min to open.

As far as I can tell IE8 uninstalled.

I wish I had more ideas.
I suggest going back to your topic with Rich and see what other ideas he has.

Make sure you uninstall Combofix.

The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

  • Click START run
  • Now type ComboFix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

I didn't see anything unless it's McAfee.
