I may have worded it wrong, do this


Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O4 - Global Startup: McAfee Security Scan.lnk = ?

O23 - Service: McAfee Framework Service (McAfeeFramework) - Network Associates, Inc. - C:\Program Files\Network Associates\Common Framework\FrameworkService.exe




Open notepad and then copy and paste the bolded lines below into Notepad.
Go to File > save as and name the file fixes.bat.
Change the Save as type to all files and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on fixes.bat file to execute it.

Reboot and post a fresh hjt log.

McAfee is gone. Your log looks fine. Reboot and see if you still get that message, I need to know what the message says

The message was very similar to the first one that I got. I'll reboot and see if it comes up again. ETA: The message hasn't come up again and I don't know when/if it will. The last time I saw it was the day of the original post.

I have looked into the error your getting , not sure but it could be related to your wireless adapter. Its not malware related I am sure.

Why don't you post in our other forum for windows issues and these guys will be able to pinpoint it for you and hopefully come up with a solution.

It's probably bad RAM. I noticed that everytime I restart my computer, I'm logged out of this forum even though the Remember Me box is checked and other information that's usually saved isn't anymore. Is there a way to fix this?

You may have your Privacy Zone set to low in Internet Explorer. Open IE and to to Tools > Internet Options > Privacy Tab and if your privacy is set to high you can lower it to medium .

I'm using Firefox so there's no low/medium/high option under the Privacy tab.

Hi Sorry for the late reply , big storm came through our area and was without power the past 12 hours or so. Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox ( my love also ) it should be 3.6, under Tools > Options > Privacy Tab, make sure its set to Remember History. Have you posted over at the other forum yet ?

No need to apologize, thanks for the response. I have "Remember my history for __ days" checked. "Remember what i enter in forms and the search bar" and "Remember what I've downloaded" are unchecked. There's no general "Remember history". I'm not sure what version of Firefox I have though. Yes I've posted in the other forum but I'm having trouble with what I'm supposed to do.

I've posted and linked them to this thread already. It's just that the instructions that they gave, I'm having trouble doing it. They told me that I need to test my memory by burning an ISO on a CD and it's not working for me.
