My browser (Firefox 3.0.5) has been acting erratically ever since I installed my DSL home connection last week. The main problem is the recurring Content Encoding Error. I've included three screenshots below. Everything will be running smoothly, then all of a sudden a webpage will become distorted. This is usually (but not always) followed by a content encoding error. I'll try reloading. Sometimes it's back to normal, sometimes it shows a content encoding error again...other times it will open a window showing: "You have chosen to open...." (screen below). This occurs even if I'm just trying to access googe. It's like it's trying to download and save the entire webpage. ??? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. But it's happening consistently now. At least once per day. I can't figure out what's causing it. I also tried using Opera Browser (to see if it was strictly a Firefox issue), but it was having the same problems. Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. I've posted my startup list and process list in the hopes that this may shed some light on what's going on. I've run out of ideas! Any help would be really appreciated.
DISTORTION usually tells me that the browser is about to become unstable

Once unstable, this window will often pop up every time I try to visit a website. Other times it stops and returns to normal. But usually I am forced to reboot if I want to be able to visit webpages once more.

I've got an Acer Aspire 5315 Laptop, running Vista SP1.
