Welcome to the forum :wavey:

Go to:

Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs

Remove New.Net or NewDotNet, then reboot.

If there is no listing for it, use the uninstaller at New.net

Use Procedure 4 to remove it. It requires that an internet connection be active while doing it. Reboot.

Run HijackThis!

Click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

DO NOT "FIX" ANYTHING WITH IT YET!!!
FIXING THE WRONG THING COULD RENDER YOUR SYSTEM INOPERABLE!!!

Reply to this thread, and "copy/paste" the ENTIRE CONTENTS of the log file into this thread.

It's OK.

Just leave these entries alone:

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

And continue with the rest of the fix.

Getting better.

Still not quite "there" yet...

Sometimes we have to "fix" things more than once.

As long as the "fix" list gets shorter each time, we'll just continue.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!!

Run Hijack This!
Click "Do a systen scan only".
Then "check" the box to the left of these item(s):

O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [winlog] winlog.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Pnkp] C:\DOCUME~1\Joseph\APPLIC~1\SMANTE~1\WNSPOO~1.EXE

Then click "Fix checked" and close Hijack This!.

Reboot in "safe" mode.

Delete all of the following noted (in red) file(s)/FOLDER(s) you can find:

c:\documents and settings\joseph\application data\SMANTE~1\WNSPOO~1.EXE <--- file

C:\WINDOWS\System32\winlog.exe <--- file

Some malware files may be "hidden".
Be sure to show hidden files when looking for these file(s) and/or folder(s).

Reboot in normal mode and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis! log file into this thread. :)

Let's get some "help".

Please download and run Spybot-Search&Destroy and Ad-Aware; they are the standard programs for finding and cleaning malware off your system. Here are links to both programs, and instructions for their use.

Get Spybot - Search & Destroy from Spybot Search and Destroy
(This is the NEW Version 1.4)
Get AdAware SE Personal from Lavasoft
(This is the NEW Build 1.6)

Download and install these programs if you don't already have them.

If you do have them, make sure they are UPDATED AND CONFIGURED AS DESCRIBED here:

Configure Adaware

Configure Spybot

Reboot after running each program.

Please try this free online virus scan of your system:

Panda Activescan
Accept default settings.

When it finishes, save the report, reboot, and copy/paste the report, along with a new HijackThis! log into this thread.
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

The help you receive here is free.
If you wish to show your appreciation, then you may donate to help keep us online.

I do have both programs (spybot and ad-aware) but I cant open anything. It is now worse and I am using a copm in a library! After sending you that post, a lot of windows were popping up and even Opera and Mozilla opened by themselves! I kept closing them but other windonws would open. Then new propgrams I dont know about were installing themselves on and I saw 3 or 4 shortcuts on my desktop for new new programs I know nothing about. So i tried to enable Cox Security Suit to run its antivirus (remember you instructed me that I had to disable the antivirus and Spybot tea-timer...resident in order to do the clean up you were helping with?). The antivirus could not open and I run Cox"repair.exe" which removes the antivirus software and reinstalls it. I rebooted but couldnt get to my desktop because Cox could not accept my username and password. so i called Cox (they are my ISP) and they told me to click alt+ctrl+del and then, then applications and then type "explorer.exe". This would get me to the desktop and then I'd have to go to 'add/remove programs" and remove Cox Security Suite. I removed it but the desktop is not active anymore and I could not get online. They are going to call me later to help me get online again.
