Please download VundoFix.exe from here:

http://www.atribune..../click.php?id=4

and save it to your desktop

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.

Checkmark the box "Run Vundo as task"

You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK

When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button

Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.

You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES

Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.

When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.

Turn your computer back on.

NEXT

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:

http://www.ewido.net/en/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt, the Ewido log and a new hijackthis log.

Woohoo! Those pop up were killing my laptop! It's running perfectly now. Thank you so much. You're a lifesaver! However, I'm sure this has nothing to do with spyware or anything but maybe you could help, whenever I leave my laptop on and walk away from it for even just a few minutes, the screen turns black and I can't do anything with it except force it to shut down by pushing the power button. My screen saver doesn't come on or anything. The screen just stays black and the hard drive light (I think that's what it is) stays lit. This happens to me almost every single time I use my laptop. Have any ideas? Also, what should I do with the Hijack This and ewido programs? Should I delete them? Thanks again for all your help!!!

It sounds like it is going into sleep mode. This happens when it is not plugged in and you are using the battery only. Let me do some checking.

It's definitely not in sleep mode and it is plugged into a power source. I guess the screen isn't completely black, i can somewhat see my desktop and icons and everything. It's difficult to explain but the screen isn't black as in it's off, it's just reallllly dark so I can barely see anything. Oh yeah, and sometimes it'll just freeze on the screensaver also.

Well those 2 files are in your restore so they are doing no harm at the moment but you will want to clean them out or you could infect yourself with them if you use a restore point. Log looks ok other than that.

All the pop ups and everything are gone but it's still doing the weird freezing thing. Also, my cd drive thing (I don't know what it's called.) is acting up. When I put data cds with files into it I can't view any of the files. I can't do anything with the cd actually. Folders that ar eon the cd won't open or anything. This has never happened before. It just started after I fixed all the other problems. How annoying huh?
