Trying to remove IBIS Toolbar

I have tried (unsuccessfully) to remove the IBIS Toolbar :scratch:

. But it's like a bad penny! My Hijack this log is below. Can anyone help me, please? I would appreciate any assistance that can be provided.

I am back and because there is a lot to do I suggest you copy and paste these instructions into word pad, and print it out so you can follow the steps in order.
Please read through this post since I am asking you to download specific software to assist you.
First, we need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.

* Click Tools=>Settings.
* In the left pane Click Real-time Protection.
* Under Startup Options Uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
* Under Real-time spyware threat protection
* Uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
* Click Save button.
* Close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
* Right Click the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar.
* Select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.

STEP 1.
======
CWShredder

Please download and run CWShredder Get it here:http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html
Make sure that all browser windows are closed with the exception of Cwshredder and choose FIX.

STEP 2.
======
Let’s check for Malware/Spyware on your computer which is best dealt with by spyware-removal programs used one after the other.

Spybot: Search and Destroy:

1.Download 'Spybot: Search And Destroy'.Get it here:http://projects.securitywonks.net/projects/download.php?file=2
2. Install it according to the instructions in 'How To Setup Spybot SD and Ad-Aware SE'. Get it here:http://www.tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
3. Next, 'Search for Updates' as the definitions are not likely to be up-to-date.
4. Close ALL windows except Spybot SD
5. Click the "Check for Problems" button
6. Click 'Fix Selected Problems' and fix only the RED items.
7. REBOOT to finish removing what Spybot SD found and clear memory

STEP 3.
======
Ad-Aware SE by Lavasoft:

1. Download 'Ad-Aware SE'. Get it here:

2. Install according to the instructions in "How To Setup Spybot SD and Ad-Aware SE" Get it here:
http://www.tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
3. Next, 'Check for Updates' by clicking on the 'world globe' second from the right at the top of your Ad-Aware SE window.
4. Install the updates.
5. Close ALL windows except Ad-Aware SE
6. Click on 'Start' and choose 'full scan' for a full scan.
7. Quarantine anything that it finds and SAVE the log file.
8.REBOOT to finish removing what Ad-Aware SE found and clear memory.

Please let me know if anything can not be cleaned by these utilities.

NEXT:

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Please read Ewido Setup Instructions
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

1. Restart your computer
2. After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4. Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Next:
Once in safe mode run Ewido Security Suite

After scan reboot to regular mode.

Now, run at least two of these online virus scans (Or more if you wish.), reboot after each scan:

eTrust<<<'Cure' whatever is found, then delete if unsuccessful

Housecall<<<Put on 'Autoclean' and delete what it can't clean.

Panda ActiveScan<<<Accept default settings

If the above find things to clean, please re-run them to be sure the infections are gone. If not, please tell me what could not be cleared out.

NEXT:

Download this file from the link to your desktop.

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'

Once it is finished your Zones should be reset.

Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE/Spyads, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE/Spyads, run the batch file and reinstall the protection

Reboot and run Hijackthis and post another log

Welcome back and your doing well, thus far.
When you finish the items below and post another log. I will then post some important thing to do to keep your PC CLEAN.

Disable Ewido:
Please disable Ewido, as it may interfere with the fix.

To disable Ewido:

From the system tray:

* Right-click the system tray icon and uncheck real time protection.

or From within Ewido -
* Under 'Your security status', if the real time protection is active, deactivate it by clicking 'real time protection' until the status says 'inactive'.

Once your log is clean you can re-enable Ewido.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.

* Put a check beside all of the items listed below

you posted a log with the Old version of Hijack thisI need a log with rhe new version I know you have it.

Please post another log from HJT and let me know how you PC is doing.

Your hijackthis version is out-of-date. Please follow the instructions found on the link below and get the new version. You will see the hijackthis downloads in the left-hand column. After you install the new version, post another log here in same post.

Is my face red? I'm so sorry (and embarrassed :oops:

) about that! I deleted old version and here is new log. Thank you so much for your patience. PC seems to be doing fine. IBIS Toolbar doesn't seem to be lurking about anymore. I'm in the market for a new pc, or maybe just upgrade memory. Any ideas?

Your still doing well. except I see you have HijackThis.exe in 2 folders.

C:\DOCUME~1\Mary\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 2 for hijackthis[1].zip\HijackThis.exe

C:\Documents and Settings\Mary\Desktop\HijackThis.exe

Please delete the the one in the temp directory. And post another log. It may have been okay but lets play it safe, a lot ofg work goes into reading a log and if wrong all time is waisted.
Good luck I will be looking for the new log.

I looked your log over and it is okay from where you got it. Please delete the one in temp file so in the future it won't get mixed up.
So here we go with your tips on keeping your PC clen.

Welcome back, good job you log is clean, Now: follow below to keep it clean.

Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:

First do this

Please download System Security Suite. Extract it from the zip file into a folder.

Run 3S under “Items To Clear” tab place a checkmark in all of them but the last.

Reboot and Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Also please describe how your computer behaves now.

Then reboot normal and follow the steps here to keep you PC clean.

Note you may have some of theses programs allready, if so just a reminder to keep updated.

1. Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows ME or XP then you should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.

2. Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:

1. From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
2. Click once on the Security tab
3. Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
4. Click once on the Custom Level button.

1. Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
2. Change theDownload unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
3. Change the Initialise and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
4. Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
5. Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
6. Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
7. When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
8. If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.

5. Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

3. Use an Anti Virus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. See these links for a listing of some on line & their stand-alone anti virus programs:

4. Update your Anti Virus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Anti virus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.

5. Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. See link below for a free firewall:

6. Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

7. Install Spybot - Search and Destroy - Install and download Spybot - Search and Destroy with its TeaTimer option.
This will provide real-time spyware & hijacker protection on your computer alongside your virus protection. You should also scan your computer with program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software. A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

8. Install Ad-Aware - Install and download Ad-Aware. You should also scan your computer with the program on a regular basis just as you would an anti virus software in conjunction with Spybot. A tutorial on installing & using this product can be found here:

10. Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

NEXT:

delete all TEMP files there is a few ways to do this.
One way I found to be the simplest is go to Start, Run, In the run window type in %temp% and click OK
when Temp file opens go to top, click on edit, click on select all. Then press the delete button.

NEXT:

Empty recylcle bin.

ALSO:
You can enable your Microsoft AntiSpyware. Now
