Please download miekiemoes' LQfix batch here:
http://www.downloads...m.org/LQfix.zip
Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please run LQfix.bat. When finished, restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Not as bad as it looks as most are in your restore and we will clean that out later

Download TheKillbox from here http://www.downloads...org/KillBox.zip Save to your Desktop and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\GS2.exe/data0002/data0006
C:\WINDOWS\system32\VB1.exe

Then reboot to safe mode, sacan with ewido aagain and post a new ewido, hijackthis and kapersky log.

This could have been the start of your problems

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [eDonkey2000] "C:\Program Files\eDonkey2000\edonkey2000.exe" -t

Name eDonkey2000
Command edonkey2000.exe
Status U
Description Not recommended. File sharing network. The free version of this application should be avoided as it installs, without permission, New.Net, Webhancer, WebSearch Toolbar, and WinTools. File location: Program Files\eDonkey2000 folder.

  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.
Paste the contents of the Panda scan report along with a new HijackThis Log in your next reply.

My eDonkey? dayam. I love eDonkey. That's too bad. I don't think it's eDonkey, however. I've had eDonkey for a while now, and these problems only arose lately. Also, a family member changed setting in my Windows Explorer to accept all Active X (which I've changed back). I think that was the problem. But anyway, you've been so much help thus far. Again, thanks for everything. Here's both logfiles.
