Hi Your log is looking good thus far first let me study this last log, and I will post back some more to make your pc operate smoother. However I am not at my home base and that’s where all my logs are. So maybe if you can wait I will be there in about 3 hours. In the meantime let me know what and how your pc is doing. Good luck mschroe919
ok…no problem. wanted to let you know that the firefox xhortcut i used to have on my desk top is gone and when i try to start firefox, it says that I am in "safe mode". Not sure if that was supposed to be part of this process or not!
New piece of info….I am still getting the random window opening up on top of the window I am looking at when in the internet. It happened just now after i ran a yahoo search.
Hi I am back
Do you still have the GooredFix.exe on your desk top?
If so follow this:

Please double-click GooredFix.exe on your Desktop to run it.
  • Select "2. Fix Goored" by typing 2 and pressing Enter.
  • Make sure all instances of Firefox are closed at this point.
  • Type y at the prompt and press Enter again.
  • A log will open, please post the contents of that log in your next reply (it can also be found on your desktop, called GooredLog.txt).
Note: If you receive a message saying that GooredFix needs your system to be restarted, please close all applications and reboot your system. Please also allow any registry changes that may be prompted by any of your security programs.
good luck mschroe919

RECONNECT TO THE INTERNET
Wow….this one was a project! I have copied the log below, but just so you know, I got to the point where I had to lake sure everything was checkmarked after the scan was complete and after I hit Next, the program started to make a list when the entire computer shut down on its own. I rebooted in safe mode again, and finished the steps to get the log, but I am not sure if the computer was supposed to shut down like that!

I had to post this under "safe mode with connections" because I can't see the log when I am not logged in under safe mode. I hope that all just made sense! And I really hope we are getting to the bottom of this! You have been so helpful so far - thank you!
Hi again…..just wanted to let you know that I am still getting these random windows opening while I am on the internet. This time I was not running any kind of search via google or yahoo. I also got a new kind of pop-up window - the small blue Windows window telling me my computer is infected and that I should download some 360 program (of course I did not!). It then took me to a screen that looked a lot like a Windows screen for the My Computer or Control Panel type thing. It was however an internet page. I didn't take a long look at as I panicked and quickly closed out of the internet, so I have no idea what it really was. Just wanted to give you some more info.
Hi jmeeshell
Sorry about being so late but this is a tough one and these next steps should do it.

NEXT:

go to add remove programs and uninstall:
WildTangent Web Driver

NEXT:

We need to update your Java and remove old versions of it:
Download it and unzip it then run it

HERE:

JavaRa will check if your computer has the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE). If the version you have installed has been superseded by a newer version the program will download and install this newer version for you, by running Java's update program. It then allows you to remove all possible older versions of this program. This will ensure that the security of your computer is enhanced and extra space on your hard disk is created.

When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a new HijackThis log for further review

****Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze ****

*If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.

Give it atleast 20-30 minutes to finish

Good luck mschroe919
Ok….I deleted the Wild Tangent program you asked me too and I ran the JavaRa. Once I got to the ComboFix part of your directions, I stopped. I got a message from the program about my AVG. It said that AVG was running and this could interfere with the ComboFox program and/or cause problems with my computer. I am not sure what to do at this point! Also, once I actually begin the ComboFix, what do you want me to click in the boxes in regards to the Recovery Console and What's Next boxes. Should I be saying yes or no to their questions? If I am close to solving this darn thing, I don't want to do anything wrong! lol Thanks for your continued help!
good morning, try starting again but disable your AVG. You will be disconnected from internet so that causes no risk. we will start it up again later. Say yes to the questions and yes your close to solving it this step is needed to do so. good luck mschroe919 here is how to disable your avg: right click on avg icon at bottom of task bar (right side) open the Control Center, double click the Resident Shield and remove the checkmarks next to the option labeled "Turn on AVG Resident Shield protection". Don't forget to re-activate it when you are done."
ok…here is the combo fix log:

Fingers crossed for good news!!!
Good news so far! I have had no problems! I ran a google search and no crazy windows popped up. Was it related to google at all or was that just a coincidence? Any idea how I could have gotten the virus/spyware? I will let you know if anything changes. Please let me know if there is anything else you think I should do. I am still running Firefox in safe mode, can I/should I get out of that? Thanks for all of your help so far!
