i dont know much about this problem but im guessing it has something to do with this: res://mshp.dll/index.html#12802, because this is what my start page was defaulting to everytime i satred explorer.

i just ran a scan for viruses and i founds 1 trojan its name according to macafee is Downloader-KL i was wondering if this is the problem that is making new problems keep coming up?

Lets keep our communication to the boards and not pm ok waiver. You do have a load of junk in this log. Perform the following operations in the order they appear.

Lets start with another run of CWShredder, I want you to download it again because it has been updated since you ran it last.

Download CWShredder.
Unzip it, run it using the fix button and follow the prompts.

After you have run cwshredder there are tow other programs I want you to download, install and run. Both are excellent and free I recvommend you keep them updated and run them often to help keeep your computer clean.

Make sure you reboot when instructed in the following directions

Download Ad-Aware and install it.

Run Ad-Aware and update it with the latest reference file using the Check for updates now link or the Globe icon at the top right.

Next, configure it. Click the Settings icon (the little gear at the top right)
Click through Tweak>Scanning Engine
Choose (green check mark) "Unload recognized processes during scanning"

Now, just down the list in the same window, click Cleaning Engine and choose the following options
UNCHECK (make it red) "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion"
Choose (green) "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot"
Click the "Proceed" button.

Click Scan Now (on the left) and choose "Use Custom scanning options" then click the Customize link and make sure "Scan within archives" is selected as well as all the items under the Memory and Registry heading. Click the "Proceed" button.

Now you are ready to scan, click the Next button and the scan will begin.

If it finds any bad items right click the window and choose "select all" from the drop down list then click "Next". Click Ok if you are asked for confirmation on removing all checked items.
After Ad-Aware gets done, close it and reboot (this is very important).

Next, get Spybot S&D.

Install Spybot S&D, run it and select "search for updates" (under "online" or just accept the updates offered during the install/initial run) and put a checkmark in the box of each one it finds.
Press the download button at the top left.

Close all browser windows and shut down all other programs with a placeholder in the taskbar.
Click the "search and destroy" icon in the left pane, then click the "check for problems" button at the top of the window.
When it is finished scanning, make sure there is a check mark next to any items labeled in red, click the "fix selected problems" button at the top.

When Spybot gets done, reboot your computer (this is very important).

Run hijackthis and post a fresh log to this thread.

First, run Spybot S&D and enable the immunize feature (icon in left pane).

You are running HijackThis! directly on the desktop which is not a good idea. Make a new folder on your desktop, right click HijackThis!.exe and select "cut", right click in the window of the new folder you made and select "paste". Once that is done, proceed with the following repairs.

Place a check mark in HijackThis next to each of the following.
Close all browser windows and shut down all other programs with a placeholder in the taskbar.
Click "fix checked."

Reboot into safe mode (tap repeatedly as the computer boots).

Show hidden files/folders
Go to Start>control panel>folder options>view tab
Check mark "display the contents of system folders"
Select "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
Click the [ok] button.


Delete the following

Folders
c:\program files\GlobalDialer

Files
C:\WINDOWS\System32\winsrm32.dll << if it exists
C:\WINDOWS\System32\mmgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nbwggw.exe

ok problem, everytime i try to go into safe mode and access folder options i get this: (null) this is not valid Win32 application i dont get it but the problem is basically fixed i thankyou very much for your detication and help. ps. sry bout the pm i ws in deep and couldnt get out alone.

Can you get to folder options during a normal boot?
Do a search of your computer for "rundll32.exe" where is it found (only that file name exactly, not variations of it). It is a necessary file so don't delete it. If there is on instance of it in the wrong location we will need to deal with that.

Post a fresh HijackThis! log so we can make sure it is all cleaned up

no, i cant access the folder through normal mode, and i did run a search for it after and it sa's that there isnt even a match for it.
