Hi PJHONEY, welcome to the forum.

Please be advised, as I'm still in training, all my replies will have to be approved by a teacher or expert before I can post them. This may cause some delays, but I will do my best to keep them as short as possible.

To make cleaning this machine easier
  • Please do not uninstall/install any programs unless asked to
It is more difficult when files/programs are appearing in/disappearing from the logs.
  • Please do not run any scans other than those requested
  • Please follow all instructions in the order posted
  • All logs/reports, etc.. must be posted in Notepad. Please ensure that word wrap is unchecked. In notepad click format, uncheck word wrap if it is checked.
  • Do not attach any logs/reports, etc.. unless specifically requested to do so.
  • If you have problems with or do not understand the instructions, Please ask before continuing.
I will post back soon with additional instructions.

Thanks
Hi PJHONEY,

I need you to check a file at Virustotal. You will need to locate it first.

Open windows explorer (right click the Start button and click Explore)

At the top of windows explorer, click tools, folder options, click the view tab
  • check Display the contents of system folders
  • check Show hidden files and folders
  • uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" box
  • uncheck "Hide protecting operating system files" box
  • Click apply, click ok
Next, at the top of Windows Explorer, click Search
  • Click All files and folders
  • In the All or part of the filename box, copy and paste bxvytu.dll
  • Set the Look in: box to Local Hard Drives(x) (x denotes your hard drives)
  • Click on More advanced options
  • Make sure the Type of file is set to (All Files and folders)
  • Check Search System Files
  • Check Search Hidden Files and Folders
  • Check Search Subfolders
  • Ensure Case Sensitive is not checked
  • Click Search
When the search is complete, please note the complete filepath, you will need it in the next step. The complete filepath will consist of a drive letter, probably a foldername and the file name. For example C:\windows\system32\filename . The file will be in the right hand panel. If you have any problems locating the file, let me know, we have other ways of finding it.

Now submit the file to virustotal, please click on this link

  • Use the browse button on that page to navigate to the location you found in the above search.
  • In the right hand panel, click on the file bxvytu.dll, then click the open button.
  • The file will now be displayed in the submit box.
  • Scroll down a bit and click "send file", wait for the results and post them in your next reply.
Please note that sometimes the scans take a few minutes. Please ensure that the scan has completed and the results are complete.

Download and save to your desktop, RSIT by random/random
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (will be maximized) and info.txt (will be minimized)
Note: These logs will open in notepad. Please ensure that word wrap is unchecked. In notepad click format, uncheck word wrap if it is checked.

Please post the Virustotal results and the 2 RSIT logs in your next reply. Let me know what symptoms you are experiencing.

Thanks
