Hi this is my first post so ill try to be as detailed as possible.
Installed a memory monitoring program (author: speed apps) which also installed allot of annoying add ons / toolbars to Internet explorer. Got rid of toolbars but homepage is stuffed aswell. My default homepage was google.com but has now been changed to http://www.bestfreedailyporn.com/result_ne…w.google.com%2f
Which Nortions alerted me to being a known phishing site and inturn blocked me from acessing it thank god. Every time i open my internet explorer browser it keeps jumping to that site, strangely only google searches and google.com are effected, can still acess youtube and myspace but homepage is always redirected. Im also bombarded with stupid "you have won" windows and dumb I.Q tests.

This is dads work computer so any help would be much apreciated!!!.

Merry Christmass and a happy new year.

here is the log that hijack this v2.0.2 generated. Thanks in advance!

Hi mschroe919 and thank you for reading my log. Of the steps to do - I can't do the first as I am running Windows Vista - Home Premium. Is there an alternate to ATF Cleaner which works with that version? Thanks sammy978
Not that I know what I'm talking about but looking at the HJT Log as a newbie - I'm suspicous of the following coz I don't recognize them as my regular progs.
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://www.speedapps.com/search.htm
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file), and
O2 - BHO: speedapps Toolbar - {d9c9a8c9-460d-4343-888e-ae02bcc3ce57} - C:\Program Files\speedapps\tbspee.dll (file missing)
O3 - Toolbar: speedapps Toolbar - {d9c9a8c9-460d-4343-888e-ae02bcc3ce57} - C:\Program Files\speedapps\tbspee.dll (file missing)

Am currently running the malbytes anti malware prog (its been running over an hour) and will post its results when it completes its run.

Thanking you in advance for your help and hoping to learn something as we step through this.

Thnxs sammy978
Yes thats part of it but to continue, I need to see the new HJT log complete, and the malware log. Please don't jump the gun and start dleteing untill I tell you the files to delete. And Happy holidays to you and yours mschroe919
Hi, the results of the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scan are attached. It did find quite a few entries for a trojan virus. I did tell it to remove selected items and it has done so. The Browser is no longer being hijacked, but per your advice I am seeing this through to the end just in case there are more nasties still lurking on the Hard Disk. Thanks again Sammy978
Hi again, I have run a fresh Hijack This log and am attaching here. Hope the deletion of the trojan per the last log hasn't complicated things. Cheers Sammy978
No it won't hurt, the only thing I didn't see where it deleted trhem.
If this was done it would show me:

* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Let me know what happen there, I have another program to get rid of them, but I don't want to use it if you did have them removed. I will be able to tell but I need another malware log, And if they are still there I will get you to do another program.

Good news! I re-ran the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan and it reports that there are no malicious items found!
All items shown previously as "no action taken" were removed.
If you concur that this is all that needs doing I'll get back to normal ops - editing the family's Christmas photos into an animated DVD.

Thank you for your time and effort. It's very much appreciated.
