I have a new Acer Aspire laptop that I purchased about a month ago. I recently used a few of the Myspace auto friend requesters to add members to my mafia wars game. Every since my comp is acting up. Windows keeps crashing, lots of pop-ups. When i close my laptop and open it back, windows has shut down and i have a hard time getting it to open, sometimes 20 + tries. I opened windows in safe mode and ran malwarebytes anti-malware. The first time, it came up with 19 infections, 17 the second time and 12 the 3rd. Please help save my new computer!!!! Here are the mbam logs and the hijack this log.

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix, Vundofix, or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.

You might want to print these instructions out.

I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

Next:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Next:

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : Protective Programs

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

Note: Combofix will run without the Recovery Console installed.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
"copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread as well.

Notes:

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you – please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Give it atleast 20-30 minutes to finish if needed.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Here is the combofix log. Sorry it took so long, my computer keeps saying windows detected a problem and is closing down to prevent data loss. Then it gives me the option to open in safe mode or normally. Very frusterating!!!

The System File Checker is an important application which scans the integrity of all the protected system files on your PC. Should it locate an incorrect version of a specific protected file SFC automatically replaces it with the correct Microsoft version. To check your Windows protected files, proceed as follows: 1/ Click the Start button 2/ From the Start Menu, Click All programs followed by Accessories 3/ In the Accessories menu, Right Click on the Command Prompt option 4/ From the drop down menu that appears, Click on the 'Run as administrator' option 5/ If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled you will be asked for authorisation prior to the command prompt opening. You may simply need to press the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password etc. 6/ In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow and then press Enter 7/ A message will appear stating that 'the system scan will begin' 8/ Be patient because the scan may take some time 9/ If any files require replacing SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue 10/ If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations" 11/ After the scan has completed, Close the command prompt window
I tried this and it said : Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning varification phase of scan. Verification 71% complete. Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation. I have tried a few times, with the same outcome.

That's what is redirecting your browsing.

I tried the ipconfig /flushdns, it said the requested operation requires elevation

Can you login as Administrator and try the last fix again?
I am tthe only user of this computer and my account is set up as admin. Is that what you are talking about or is there another way to log in as admin.? Otherwise it is still telling me the requested operation requires elevation.
while watching videos on a website i received this message and am not allowed to use the site anymore. Your computer (IP: 68.0.107.209) generates an attacking DOS requests at our servers caused by the spyware/virus named 'Troj/Rustok-N' We cannot provide you with an access to our content for browsing purposes as it will lead to the inevitable crush of our website. My computer seems to be getting worse. I truely appreciate everything you are doing to help. Hopefully we can fix this.
Please download FixWareout from this site:
http://www.4shared.com/file/40178743/91522…Fixwareout.html
Give it some time to find the file.

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads a text that will open (report.txt) Please save this file, you'll need to post it with a new HijackThis log.

Next:

Now lets check some settings on your system.
Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections

Then right click on your Default Connection
Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
Left click on Properties
Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks

Reboot and "copy/paste" the text file (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
Please remember every tool you run needs this:
1. This tool MUST be run from the executable. (.exe)
2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Defender
We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Windows Defender.
Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Now run a new MBAM scan per these instructions:

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
  • Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Also "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.
