My name is jpshortstuff. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
- I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
- The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
- Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
- It's often worth reading through the instructions before starting to follow them to make sure you understand everything you have to do.
- If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
- Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.
- Disable any script blocking protection
- Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
- When done, DDS.txt will open.
- Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
- Save both reports to your desktop.
- Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply
- Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scroling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.
Thanks.
You need to disable TeaTimer, so that it doesn't interfere with our fix.
This is a two step process.
First step:
- Right-click the Spybot Icon in the System Tray (looks like a blue/white calendar with a padlock symbol)
- If you have the new version 1.5, click once on Resident Protection, then right-click the Spybot icon again and make sure Resident Protection is now Unchecked. The Spybot icon in the System tray should now be now colorless.
- If you have Version 1.4, Click on Exit Spybot S&D Resident
- Open Spybot S&D
- Click Mode, choose Advanced Mode
- Go to the bottom of the vertical panel on the left, click Tools
- Then, also in left panel, click Resident shows a red/white shield.
- If your firewall raises a question, say OK
- In the Resident protection status frame, Uncheck the box labeled Resident "Tea-Timer"(Protection of over-all system settings) active
- OK any prompts.
- Use File, Exit to terminate Spybot
- Reboot your machine for the changes to take effect.
Please download OTMoveIt3 by OldTimer.
- Save it to your desktop.
- Please double-click OTMoveIt3.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
- Copy the lines in the codebox below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy):

Hope all this information is useful to recover my computer system.
Currently, I am still having problems accessing the websites after rebooting my computer.
Thank you again for your patience and help.
You don't appear to be running any Anti-Virus software.
Install Anti-Virus software! Without any anti-virus software, your computer is wide open to infection. If you don't have any Anti-Virus software I strongly recommend you download Avast! or AVG Free
None of these logs are showing anything else bad. Let's just get one more general opinion.
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
- Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
- At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
- If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
- Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location.
- The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt - Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
- Post that log back here.
About three months ago, I removed Norton Antivirus from my computer, and keep running Windows Defender and Spybot S&D. According to your suggestion, Avast! was installed today.
I downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and then scanned my computer, about 9 infected items were detected and deleted. The log file is copied here:

After rebooted, sadly, my computer still suffers the same problem as before. However, I love the words Barack Obama said today, let's "choose hope over fear".
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.netfirms.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Try Again
With Internet Explorer to browse any of them, the same.
Please post a fresh HijackThis log, let's make sure all the Malware is gone.
Just curious, if you paste this into the address bar in your browser to you still get the same problem?
http://70.42.30.58
Its not looking like a Malware problem to me, I may well have to send you over to our Tech forums for better assistance with the problem.
Thanks.
A few weeks ago, I did try a couple of times to paste http://70.42.30.58 into the address bar in my browsers, and had no luck.
Now, however, there is a good news for you: My computer works well again, i.e. currently I can access all the websites including the one I mentioned. It seemed the problem was related to Norton!
As I mentioned before, I removed Norton from my computer. One or two days later, my computer started suffering, and I tried every effort I could, including your great help …
The funny thing is, last night I re-installed Norton on my computer, surprisingly found my laptop ended the striking and works well again!
Thank you a billion for your time, kindness and great effort!!!
